ATTICUS’S ODYSSEY: REINCARNATED INTO A PLAYGROUND
Chapter 1067 - 1067: Return“Nicely said,” Oberon murmured as they descended through the still air.
Atticus gave a small nod. “This should keep things silent for a while.”
If he were being honest, it irritated him that he even had to do this in the first place.
Had it been before, before he had decided to take over the whole of Eldoralth, he wouldn’t have bothered.
They could scream, rage, tear each other apart.
It was their life, and they could waste it however they wished.
But now…
‘I have to start gathering influence from now.’
Everyone knew his name. His title as The Apex of Humanity.
But none of them knew him as a leader. Not truly as a symbol. Not as hope.
That was what today’s speech had been for.
A step toward becoming more than just power.
Then he decided to change the topic.
“The nodes?”
“They’re all fine,” Oberon replied quickly. “Aside from your fortifications, I’ve also added more of my strongest. No paragon should be able to break through with a single strike, if they can break through at all.”
Atticus nodded.
The Aegis Nodes were the most critical components in the human domain right now. He couldn’t risk them falling.
He had spent the entire night after their last meeting carving runes into each one, layering them in dense mana and defense shields. With his will, the strength of the runes he could create was off the charts.
‘That should be all for now.’
With the crowd pacified and the nodes secured, there was only one thing left.
Return to the estate.
“Alright,” Atticus said, “just to be safe, I want the paragons stationed near each node.”
Oberon nodded his head in understanding. “I understand.”
With that, Atticus’s figure vanished from the skies of Sector One, heading back toward the Ravenstein estate.
A second later, he appeared above it.
‘Of course.’
He stifled a laugh as his gaze fell on the hill below.
Scattered across the base were dozens of unconscious bodies… they were men and women who had been foolish enough to storm the Ravenstein estate during the riot.
They were citizens of the Ravenstein spire, who had wanted to demand answers or protection after hearing the war declarations.
But not a single one had made it up the hill. The Ravensteins had stopped them all, decisively and brutally.
His eyes left the scene and moved to the estate itself.
Many Ravensteins had gathered outside. Some were present because of the impending war. Now, families needed to stand together more than ever before.
And they had simply been going about their business before they had all felt the chill, and then heard him speak.
And now, as they saw the overwhelming presence descending from the sky, they froze.
Silence descended across the estate.
As Atticus landed on the ground, heads instantly bowed in reverence.
No one spoke. No one dared to. But they couldn’t be blamed.
Words fell short of describing what Atticus had become.
He had reached Level Five in the four basic elements and had fused them together.
What now stood before them was no longer just an heir or a warrior.
He was becoming a force.
And with every step he took through the estate, it felt as though a storm was drawing near.
Something primordial.
The air itself was docile, almost afraid to stir. The earth lay still, unmoving. The water, wherever it existed, was deathly still. And the fire, not even a flicker.
He was what the Ravenstein bloodline was meant to be.
He alone embodied its essence.
Atticus’s steps carried him to the grand entrance of the mansion.
And there, just as expected, she waited.
“Atticus,” Anastasia said softly.
At the sound of his name, his cold aura, so suffocating and vast, collapsed.
He crossed the final steps quickly, wrapping her in a large, warm hug.
“How have you been?” he asked with a low voice.
Anastasia hugged him tighter.
He felt it, wet streaks soaking into his chest.
Tears.
He smiled, holding her closer. “I’m fine, Mom. I’m here.”
“I know, At,” she whispered. “I know.”
Eventually, Atticus stepped inside the mansion.
Almost immediately, he was met by Lyanna, Nathan, and Sirius rushing down the hallway toward him.
Lyanna reached him first, pulling him into a fierce hug.
“Great job taking out that reptile and the space freak,” she said with a grin.
“Lyanna!” Anastasia snapped from behind.
Lyanna scoffed. “What? You baby this boy way too much. I don’t think you realize he’s now one of the strongest people on the planet.”
“Don’t try to justify yourself,” Sirius muttered, shaking his head. He turned to Anastasia. “Don’t mind her, we’re trying to change her. It’s… a process.”
“You old fool,” Lyanna shot back, “if more people were like me, there’d be a lot fewer stupid decisions in this world.”
Sirius rolled his eyes and ignored her, giving Atticus a firm tap on the shoulder.
Then he nodded. “You did good.”
Only Nathan remained where he stood, not moving forward.
His expression was tight and distracted.
He didn’t even respond when Atticus greeted him. Instead, he mumbled incoherent words under his breath, chewing on something, again.
Sirius glanced at him and chuckled. “Don’t mind that one. He’s sulking over how much money the war’s going to cost.”
Atticus mouthed an “oh,” nodding slowly as the realization sank in.
Three races. It was no small battle.
And war drained more than just blood.
Then, as Atticus looked around, he noticed something, or rather, someone, was missing.
“Where’s Dad?” he asked.
At his question, Atticus could feel the mood change.
Anastasia’s smile strained, and the trio behind her fell silent.
“He had something to take care of,” Anastasia said gently. “He’ll be back soon.”
The others exchanged glances but said nothing.
‘Something’s going on.’
Atticus could feel it, but after studying them for a moment, he decided not to press.
Instead, after talking a bit more, saying his goodbyes, and offering a few reassuring nods,
He made his way upstairs to his room.
