Luckbringer disappeared, leaving the rift in the secret realm still lingering.

The team captain spoke in a grave tone, "Report this immediately!"

"Yes!" The female officer nearby answered promptly and stepped aside to make the call.

Although secret realm rifts weren't unusual globally, their sudden appearance in a small town was still enough to make people uneasy.

That said, unease didn't mean fear.

As long as the government dispatched personnel promptly to secure the area and confirm its safety, the rift would attract a crowd eager to witness it, potentially boosting the local economy.

In a way, this could be seen as a good thing for the local government.

Qiao Sang turned her head, intending to share what had just happened with Wu Chang, but before she could speak, a group of officers surrounded her. Each carried a powerful flashlight, their beams glaringly bright.

"Are you okay? Don’t worry, we’re here now!" A young officer reassured her.

What’s there to be afraid of? I’ve already handled it, and you’re only arriving now...

Qiao Sang smiled and replied, "I’m fine."

"Where’s the other person?" Another officer asked.

Qiao Sang looked up toward the sky and said, "A pet beast from the secret realm dragged him inside."

Her words stunned the group into silence.

Dragged inside?

Wasn't he the one with a Stronghold Sky Owl, a Phantom Fiend, and a Tablema?

How could a beast tamer with three General-tier pets be taken into the secret realm?

Did this mean the pet beast on the other side of the rift was even stronger?

"What kind of pet beast was it?" Wu Chang asked urgently.

Even though everything had been a lie, and Zhang Rontang's intentions were far from pure, Wu Chang couldn’t help but feel concerned.

Qiao Sang shook her head.

"I don’t know. I only saw that it was massive and made entirely of steel. It’s likely a Steel-type pet."

Wu Chang’s face turned pale. Despite everything, he didn’t want Zhang Rongtang to get hurt.

Just then, an officer on the side asked, "What about the wild pet beast?"

The officer’s gaze darted between Flame Hound and Treasure-Seeking Demon, admiration evident in his eyes.

No wonder a beast tamer with three General-tier pets wanted to forcibly contract one of these. Regardless of which one he targeted, their appearance alone was worth a contract slot! 𝘳АNօʙÈᶊ

But where was the Flame Hound? The officer glanced around curiously.

Compared to the unfamiliar wild beasts, he was more intrigued by the recently reported evolved form of the Fire Fang Dog.

"It also went into the rift." Qiao Sang replied.

The officer froze in place.

It also went in? Then what about these two?

"Whose beasts are these?" The captain asked.

Everyone else turned to Qiao Sang with puzzled expressions.

Clearly, they had assumed one of the two beasts had to be wild.

Qiao Sang, perplexed by the question, replied, "Of course, they’re mine."

The area fell silent.

Seconds later, the officers erupted in disbelief.

"You’re a high schooler, aren’t you?"

"Where’s your Flame Hound?"

"And whose Treasure-Seeking Demon is this?"

"Does anyone else think this pet looks a lot like the Flame Hound?" Someone remarked, silencing the crowd again.

All eyes turned toward the imposing pet, which was clearly no ordinary mid-tier beast.

Come to think of it, they did look alike: White and red fur, and both were canine beasts...

A bold theory began forming in their minds, but it seemed too absurd to voice aloud.

They looked back at Qiao Sang, waiting for her explanation.

Faced with their scrutiny, Qiao Sang calmly suggested, "Shouldn’t we head back to the station to file a report first?"

The officers: ...

The report was inevitable, but before heading to the station, Qiao Sang remembered something: Was the Stronghold Sky Owl recovered by the uncle?

After informing the officers, they spent over twenty minutes searching.

Once it was confirmed that the owl was gone, likely taken back by the uncle, Qiao Sang mounted Yabao, with Little Treasure perched on her head and Lubao cradled in her arms, following the officers to the station.

As they were about to leave the area, a gust of cold wind blew through, carrying a small piece of paper about 5 cm in size onto Lubao’s back.

"Lu."

Lubao disdainfully picked it up with her paw and tossed it aside.

Another gust of wind carried the paper directly onto Little Treasure’s face.

"Xun..."

Little Treasure plucked him off curiously, glanced at it, then tossed it into his ring without a second thought.

Hongrao Town

Police Station

"Name?"

"Qiao Sang."

"Age?"

"Fifteen."

"What?! Fifteen?!" The officer doing the report practically shouted, lifting his head in disbelief.

Qiao Sang flinched.

"Is fifteen a problem?"

"N-no!"

The officer shook his head and asked, "Do you have your ID card or beast tamer badge?"

The badge would also verify her real name and age.

By the time Qiao Sang left the station, two hours had passed.

Wu Chang walked out with her.

Noticing his strange demeanor, Qiao Sang glanced at him. She could guess how he was feeling.

Anyone would feel upset if their longtime companion, whether a person or a pet, disappeared so suddenly.

"Are you okay?" Qiao Sang asked.

Wu Chang lowered his eyes, replying in a flat tone, "I’m fine."

Qiao Sang studied him briefly, then told Lubao, "Sing something."

"Lu lu lu~" Lubao sang immediately, sending out healing sound waves.

"Are you okay now?" Qiao Sang asked again.

Wu Chang turned to her, his clear eyes filled with naïveté.

"Huh? Of course, I’m fine!"

Qiao Sang chuckled.

"That’s good to hear."

The two chatted briefly before parting ways. Just before they separated, Wu Chang quietly said, "Thank you."

"It’s nothing." Qiao Sang replied, knowing Wu Chang wasn’t thanking her for the healing.

10:12 PM

Qiao Sang returned to her dorm room in a good mood, with Little Treasure on her head and Lubao in her arms.

Because Yabao had grown too large after his evolution, he was stored in the Beast Taming Codex.

As soon as she entered, Xu Yixuan shot up from bed, asking, "Why are you back so late? I called you so many times, and you didn’t answer. You scared me!"

"I didn’t check my phone." Qiao Sang said, removing her uniform.

She joked, "Why were you scared? Did you think I’d gone missing?"

Xu Yixuan nodded.

"Exactly."

Qiao Sang: ...

Xu Yixuan added nervously, "You don’t know how long the sirens blared outside. It looked like every officer was deployed. What happened?"

Qiao Sang thought for a moment before replying, "Nothing major, just a secret realm rift."

Xu Yixuan: !!!

Her eyes widened.

"You’re calling that nothing major?!"

Completely forgetting her own reaction to the rift earlier, Qiao Sang replied calmly, "It’s just a rift. They’re all over the internet. It’s not like we’ve never seen one."

Xu Yixuan stared at her in awe, feeling that Qiao Sang’s composure and strength were perfectly fitting for a future powerhouse.

Glancing at the time, Qiao Sang decided to postpone her shower. She kicked off her shoes, half-lay on her bed, and entered the Beast Taming Codex.
