Chapter 2642 - 2643: A Father's Gift

As I rested over my bed just thinking about many things, finally beginning to clear my mind once I got a better grasp of the entire situation, and planning ahead, I heard my father knocking at the door.

Knock, knock!

"Kireina! My dear daughter! I got you a new gift! Open the door for daddy! You're going to love this!"

I am still not completely used to having a dad, but I really like it anyway. I mean, I'm used to it, I guess? I've merged with a parallel version of myself that grew up with him after all.

Makes me wonder though, if I could somehow bring my mother, Khaos, here… What could happen? Could she also obtain a body here?

Maybe I can hook her up with my dad here!

Wait, would that even work?

I guess anybody is better than that old man of The One. I don't know what their relationship is, but I know they've had children together.

But nope, I don't like him to be honest, I would rather have my mom met my new dad and maybe they could complement each other.

After all, both are beings born from chaos and all of that!

Then we can be a big, full family of little chaos spawns…

Wouldn't that be amazing? I can finally have a big family!

But mom… I haven't heard of her for a while, I know she's still chained by the Overseers, but…

At some point she had even told me she wanted to inherit her powers from me before she were to die, turning me into a Primordial.

But of course I cannot accept that, she'll die! And I want to be with her, I want to find her for once…

There hasn't been any constellation messages either, my guess is that this time dilation doesn't let them get through that easily.

Or maybe their messages are heavily delayed or something.

My original plan was to get strong enough to become a cosmic being, then tackle whatever gets in the way and travel the universe until I finally find my mother.

I guess that's my main goal now that I think about it…

The thing about the Usurpers of Destiny, the mysterious Demon King of Grand Terra, and that annoying spider… Uh, those are completely separate problems, ok? And I don't care about my "sisters" from before I was born from Khaos either, they can go screw themselves, I'm never going back to them.

This Parallel World Dungeon's Time Dilation is the ideal time to grow stronger and prepare for that too, and-

"Kireina…? Um, are you sleeping dear? Should I come later…?"

"Ah! No, I'm here dad! I'll open the door!"

Dammit, I ended overthinking things too much, oops.

As I opened the door, a man without a face greeted me.

Or well, he did have a face, one made of twisting darkness, chaotic energies, taking the faint form of eyes resembling stars in a black cosmos, and a plain looking mouth.

It was like his face was scribed and it wasn't real… this was my father.

He was a bit weird, he had his quirks, but he was a good dad, actually!

"Oooh! Kireina, so you were awake! Were you busy with your homework or something?"

"Sorry, I got lost in thoughts…"

"Ah, happens a lot with me too, all the time! Sometimes I just stay in silence for hours and my subjects stare at me without knowing what I meant, Hahahah!"

"Aaah, is that? So what's the gift?"

"Oh! Yeah, silly me, forgetting the most important part! Here."

He quickly showed me my gift, a black box.

A black box?

"Huh?"

I grabbed the black box, which seemed to be made of some sort of materialized chaotic energy, or abyssal power of some sort, his creation.

"Dad, what's this?"

"Open it!"

He was very excited, clapping while smiling at me, he looked funny when smiling, his weird face would twist in funny ways.

"Okaaay…"

As I opened the gift using my Aura, which was a special way for him to ensure these things could only be obtained by me and nobody else, I extended my hand into the darkness.

These Black Boxes were father's "blind boxes" thingy, he liked making them all the time for random gifts to surprise me, he stores them in his room, and nobody can open them except the two of us.

That's where he also stores a lot of our assets, valuable relics, money, magical items, weapons, everything that makes our organization so strong and rich as hell.

"Hmm? This is…"

I pulled my hand back, finding out… a necklace, made of black chains, with a big purple jewel engraved into gold, and two red jewels at the sides.

"It's really beautiful dad… I like it."

"You do?! I'm so happy! This is… well, it's a necklace from your mother."

"Eh? My… mother?"

My mother from this world… right.

Unfortunately I don't have memories of her, I think she died when this parallel version was too young, or when she gave birth to her, I don't really recall.

"Yes, your mother wasn't just a plain human, alright? She was an amazing sorcerer and a seer."

"Seer?"

"Yes, she saw through all things. People, their Hearts, our Futures, our Pasts, everything… It was this power she was born with that helped us connect… She saw my Heart, and talked with honesty to me, never fearing what I truly was, and appreciating me for what… for what I was."

"Dad…"

He smiled, as a few black tears fell from his face, which dissipated into black cosmic dust as they fell from his face.

"So I want you to keep this… You look so much like her, my dear Kireina… I'm sure it'll fit you well."

"Okay then…"

I checked the necklace, it had several protection enchantments, it seems dad became a bit paranoic about my safety and put all these wards to protect me.

Surprisingly, nothing to spy on me or something though, I guess he really trusts me.

"Can you help me put it on?"

"Sure!"

He gently placed the necklace around my long neck, as he nodded.

"How do I look?"

"Beautiful, you're beautiful my dear."

He hugged me, petting my head.

As I hugged him, although I felt happy…

I also felt something weird within him, his energies seemed to be rapidly going into strange directions.
