Eternal Tale

Chapter 310: The Five-Element Transformation Technique

As soon as Meng Sheng was completely out of sight, Chen Xun and Brother Ox stopped before a towering Crane Spirit Tree, both wearing looks of righteous indignation.

“Brother Xun? Old Ox?” Xiao Chi looked at them, puzzled.

“Oh, come on, Xiao Chi, you didn’t really think we got here through some fancy teleportation array, did you?”

“Well, yeah…”

Xiao Chi blinked, genuinely confused. Wasn’t that exactly what Brother Xun had admitted earlier?

“Old Ox, chop it down!” Chen Xun ordered.

“Moo!” Brother Ox responded with a fierce swing. Chen Xun whipped out his low-grade Earth-Rank Mountain-Splitting Axe, and with a few quick and sharp strikes, the ancient Crane Spirit Tree came crashing down!

“A teleportation array, my foot! We ran the whole way here!” Chen Xun grumbled.

“Moo moo moo!” Old Ox added, as if offended.

“Wait, what? We RAN here?!” Xiao Chi was taken aback, his jaw dropping. “You’re telling me… you ran here?”

“Moo!” Brother Ox nodded solemnly, and after a moment, he hoisted Xiao Chi onto his back.

They continued on, their grumbling voices echoing through the mountains. Once again, they were the unlucky ones without any remarkable luck—no fancy teleportation arrays for them.

Xiao Chi glanced back at the fallen Crane Spirit Tree, wondering if his companions had a personal vendetta against it.

Over the next month, Chen Xun and company traveled through the Ten Thousand Mountains, befriending all kinds of spirit beasts along the way.

Chen Xun had managed to secure both the fourth and fifth layers of the Water Spirit Technique, even copying them down for reference. He noticed some odd issues with the techniques he had received from Yu Jingxin’s collection, as if they were subtly attuned to guide his divine sense.

At his current late-stage Divine Transformation level, Chen Xun’s divine sense was sharp enough to pick up on many things.

He wasn’t going to let any Da Li cultivator play him; with absolute control over his divine sense, nothing would escape his notice.

Instead of resorting to violence, he preferred trading for the resources he needed—spirit herbs and stones were the real deal.

The Nine Heavens Patriarch even let him freely trade for branches of the Chaoyuan Scarlet Tree to grow himself. After all, spiritual energy didn't rely on location to thrive.

“Roar! Roar!”

Xiao Chi was off in the distance, gleefully playing with a Golden Core-stage Demon-Suppressing Ape. Despite his shifty eyes darting around, he kept a cautious one-mile radius around Chen Xun.

Brother Ox, meanwhile, had headed to the mountain depths to spar with the Nine Heavens Patriarch. He only returned at mealtime, essentially left to his own devices.

Xiao Chi had followed once but vowed never to do so again. Sparring? More like an all-out brawl!

Over the past month, booming crashes echoed through the Ten Thousand Mountains as spirit beasts fled at the mere sight of Brother Ox.

Chen Xun sat cross-legged on the ground, immersed in calculations at a pace far faster than before.

Misty spiritual fog swirled around him, and flashes of five-colored divine light illuminated five hazy figures. All were engaged in deep contemplation.

“Five-element techniques for the Divine Transformation Stage are far more complex than those for single-element roots, but my options have expanded considerably,” Chen Xun murmured with a smile. He pointed at one golden figure, which grimaced as its body underwent transformations, reversing the principles of a five-element Divine Transformation technique.

The other four figures nodded and began their forced cultivation, the crackling sound of snapping meridians echoing through the air.

Chen Xun brought his fingers together before his chest, closing his eyes. The energy of the five elements surged around him, radiating pressure in all directions. Xiao Chi and his Golden Core friend froze in awe, too scared to make a sound. ṛ𝔞ƝȫBЁ§

The five divine shadows grimaced as dark light flickered above them. Using the force of his divine sense, Chen Xun meticulously observed every shift.

His five-element energy coursed through them, rapidly repairing their bodies, working faster than ever before as his comprehension of the technique deepened.

The path of cultivation was vast, with countless techniques to discover, but only Divine Transformation offered a glimpse beyond the threshold, revealing a sliver of truth. Through the Heart Demon Tribulation, one learns the essence of self; through the world’s energy, one learns the essence of the heavens!

Chen Xun’s spirit felt a rush of clarity as if he truly understood the technique now, no longer just imitating the form.

Energy radiated from his entire body as he sensed the breathing of the mountains, the flow of rivers, and the quiet presence of every blade of grass and tree.

This sensation was familiar, similar to the harmony he’d felt while training with his axe. Yet now, while refining techniques, it felt as if these two aspects were part of a greater whole.

Chen Xun fell into a trance, nearly intoxicated, for a Divine Transformation master could harness the world’s energy, creating techniques that aligned with the world’s essence.

No longer would he forcefully carve out meridians; instead, he began attuning himself to the five elements, setting out on his true path.

Half a day later…

A notebook shimmered with white light as words appeared on its cover: Five-Element Divine Transformation Technique!

As soon as the title appeared, a wave of energy shook the land. The entire Ten Thousand Mountains trembled as a tangible five-element pressure enveloped everything, causing the earth’s spiritual veins to hum and spiritual energy to cry out.

Five-colored divine light burst from where Chen Xun was sitting, soaring into the sky, its sheer force creating massive ripples of energy.

The tide of spiritual energy surged around him like waves, with blinding silver light flowing into Chen Xun like a river.

The sight was earth-shaking, as a vast pressure surged forth, leaving spirit beasts in shock. Why did they feel their blood being suppressed…?

It wasn’t just the beasts—every soldier in the Ten Thousand Mountains struggled to breathe under the innate pressure.

Amid murmurs and whispers, the surroundings fell silent. With the Bai Li Clan’s disciplined military order, there was no panic. In the ancient buildings nearby, many women of the Bai Li Clan whispered quietly, their faces resolute and beautiful in a unique way.

Meng Sheng looked up at the sky, filled with reverence and longing. One day, he would attain eternal life and gaze down upon the world!

Meanwhile, atop a towering mountain, an ancient hall emerged, and a black-armored man with long dark hair strode out, gazing far into the distance.

Bai Li Wentian stood respectfully nearby, bowing deeply. “Ancestor.”

“Begin the preparations. I’ll personally take care of those in Da Li.”

The man’s voice was cold, his aura crackling with a deadly edge. “This Daoist Chen Xun… he’s far more powerful than expected.”

Bai Li Wentian nodded slightly, his gaze drifting toward the disturbance. The pressure felt like what he had experienced as a Nascent Soul cultivator in the presence of a Divine Transformation master!

In the heart of the Ten Thousand Mountains…

The Nine Heavens Patriarch’s eyes went wide, and even Brother Ox looked shocked. After colliding with each other in a fierce exchange, they both stumbled back hundreds of meters, grimacing.

“Moo moo moo~!!”

“Old Ox, go ahead,” the Nine Heavens Patriarch rumbled, his voice like thunder, though every strand of fur on his body was on end. “It seems Daoist Chen Xun is on the verge of a breakthrough.”

The Nine Heavens Patriarch’s voice shook, as though the very mountains and rivers had absorbed his awe. “It appears his techniques are far from ordinary.”

His eyes lingered on the sky, sensing the spiritual energy being drawn in. Only his kin could harness this kind of power at birth…

Brother Ox hastily transformed into a streak of light, rushing back to guard Chen Xun. How could Big Brother not ask him to stand guard at such a critical time?

With all this commotion, if any enemies dared to intrude, it would spell disaster!
