Wen Ran, with her eyes closed, asked gently.
Mo Xiuchen gazed at her delicate and fair cheeks and raised his eyebrows with amusement, “Why do you ask?” He prided himself on not easily revealing his emotions, and had controlled them before coming in.
Where had Ranran noticed his bad mood?
Wen Ran chuckled softly, her features becoming more animated with her smile, especially with her eyes closed—it unintentionally added a seductive charm. Mo Xiuchen’s eyes deepened, a surge of desire to lean down and kiss her overwhelming him.
Her soft and mellow voice was like a warm spring breeze brushing across the heart, possessing a calming magic, “Every time you’re in a bad mood, you stop whatever you’re doing. You either hold me, or give me a massage. Mo Xiuchen, is it that when you’re feeling down, just seeing me and being with me can make you feel better?”
Wen Ran’s tone was tinged with a touch of concern, warmth, and a hint of playful teasing, not wanting the atmosphere to be too heavy.
Mo Xiuchen was taken aback, a tender look crossing his handsome features, “Ranran, why is it only when I’m feeling down? I like holding you and massaging you even when I’m happy, it has nothing to do with my mood.”
“I can feel your emotions. When you came in just now, there was still a trace of emotion there.”
Wen Ran suddenly opened her eyes, catching the astonishment in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes. She looked at him clearly, and although the angle was not favorable, the face in her line of sight was still strikingly handsome, “Mo Xiuchen, does it have something to do with me?”
“No, your intuition is off this time. I’m in a very good mood; nothing can make me feel bad as long as you’re by my side.”
Mo Xiuchen bent down and tenderly kissed her lips.
**
On Thursday evening, Mo Xiuchen received a call from Luo Haofeng.
Since Wen Ran was having her special few days, he didn’t need to exert himself at night and had more free time than usual. So, he devoted more energy to preparing surprises for Wen Ran.
The phone rang just as he got home.
He was about to go upstairs when he took the call, then gave up the idea and sat down on the sofa, “Hello, Ah Feng.”
“Mo Xiuchen, I’m back.”
Luo Haofeng’s voice came through the phone, filled with joy.
“You sound so happy, seems like you had a pleasant time in D Country?” Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a pleased smile, a deep thoughtfulness flashing across his eyes.
“Mo Xiuchen, I did have a great time in D Country, but my absence these past few days has given the Qi Family and a few of the old shareholders of the company an opportunity to make trouble, so now there’s a big problem.”
Toward the end, Luo Haofeng’s voice took on a somber tone, his greatest accomplishment this trip being that Xiaoxiao was now his woman.
It happened the second night he was in D Country, after dinner, when he and Bai Xiaoxiao went out to stroll through the night market. They walked hand in hand for two streets but ended up buying nothing.
Instead, on their way back to the apartment, they encountered a man and woman passionately embracing in the hallway, such an intense scene, Luo Haofeng, a man who had abstained for so long, could hardly bear the excitement.
Moreover, the couple was on the same floor where Bai Xiaoxiao lived, right next door to her.
Bai Xiaoxiao too was stimulated by the passion of the couple. Once inside the room, Luo Haofeng, seeing her flushed cheeks, instantly felt dry-mouthed. He hoarsely called out ‘Xiaoxiao,’ pushed her against the wall, and lowered his head to kiss her fervently.
…
“What trouble could you possibly have that’s making you so happy? It must be that Bai Xiaoxiao has cooked that rice into a mature meal,” Mo Xiuchen teased Luo Haofeng. “Even if there’s any trouble, you’d still think it’s worth it.”
As perceptive as Mo Xiuchen was, he could tell from Luo Haofeng’s unmistakable excitement that something must have been rewarding with Bai Xiaoxiao. Even if they hadn’t crossed the final line, Luo Haofeng wouldn’t have missed out on some benefits.
Luo Haofeng, hit the nail on the head by his comment, found himself unable to retort and could only sullenly say, “Mo Xiuchen, I’m afraid you’re going to have to make a trip to City B. I need your help.”
“No problem, whenever, just say the word,” Mo Xiuchen replied as he switched the phone to his other hand and lounged back into the sofa, his tone casual and indifferent.
“Tomorrow, the sooner, the better.”
Luo Haofeng’s words made Mo Xiuchen laugh, “Then you have to tell me, you and Bai Xiaoxiao, did you…?”
“Don’t ask. I’ll tell you, Xiaoxiao is mine now. So I need to handle the Qi Meiling situation faster. I don’t want Xiaoxiao to wait too long for me.”
He felt that this way was too unfair to Bai Xiaoxiao..
Even though Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t mind waiting a bit longer for him, Luo Haofeng cared a lot.
On his trip to D Country, he realized he had many potential rivals. He was in D Country for three days and met two of them, one
sent Xiaoxiao flowers, another asked her out to a movie.

“Ranran, I have a piece of good news and a piece of bad news for you. Which one would you like to hear first?”
After he finished talking to Luo Haofeng on the phone, Mo Xiuchen went upstairs, took a shower, went to bed, and pulled Wen Ran, who was lying in bed studying the new braided hairstyle Mo Xiuchen had made last time, into his arms. He snatched away the doll in her hands and tossed it aside.
Wen Ran gave a sigh as she watched him toss away her doll, then pursed her lips in displeasure, “What’s the good news?”
Mo Xiuchen’s handsome eyebrows lifted, his sensual lips curling up seductively, “The good news is that your good sister Bai Xiaoxiao and Ah Feng’s relationship has taken another step forward.”
Upon hearing this, Wen Ran blinked her clear eyes in confusion and stared at the smile on Mo Xiuchen’s lips, exclaiming in shock, “Mo Xiuchen, are you saying that Luo Haofeng and Xiaoxiao, they… did that?”
“Yep, now it’s time for the bad news,” Mo Xiuchen didn’t explain and repressed his smile as he continued, “Ranran, I have to go on a business trip a day earlier. Although Ah Feng’s relationship with Bai Xiaoxiao progressed in D Country, his absence has caused some trouble at the company. I need to go to City B first.”
Wen Ran furrowed her brows slightly with concern, “Is it serious?”
“Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be too serious,” Mo Xiuchen chuckled lightly, pressing her small face into his chest, “Were you just learning how to braid?”
At the mention of this, Wen Ran couldn’t help but pout sullenly, “Yeah, I was trying to learn the new hairstyle you did the other day, but why is it that you, a big man, can do it after just watching once, and I’ve been trying all night and still can’t get it?”
“This, it depends on IQ,” Mo Xiuchen teased, his long fingers hooking a strand of hair that had fallen onto her shoulder.
Wen Ran’s face changed, “Are you saying that you are smart and I’m dumb, and that’s why I can’t learn it?”
She glared at Mo Xiuchen, ready to kick him out of bed and send him to sleep in the guest room if he dared to call her dumb.
Mo Xiuchen quickly became serious, saying earnestly, “No, Ranran, what I mean is you don’t need to learn. I’ll do any hairstyle you want for you. For now, I’m your professional hairstylist.”
“But that’s only for now, not forever,” Wen Ran said, dissatisfied.
