GUIDE TO RAISE MY CUTIE HUSBANDS

Chapter 1660 - 1660: The trouble of the tasseled hairpin (2)

Yu Le and Yu Jiao Yu turned to look at Master Xiao at once, though this mer did not take any name he seemed to be talking about Li Cui.

Yu Jiao Yu’s eyes turned red as he pulled his eldest son back. Was it Li Cui’s fault that he was good-looking? Why did everyone say such things to him?

However, he couldn’t say anything as Master Xiao didn’t take the name of his son.

“Master Xiao, what are you trying to do?” Guo Zian glared at the mer angrily. This mer—he seriously, couldn’t sit still even for a few seconds could he? They brought him here because he said that he wanted to follow them.

He promised to not act like a demon and yet here he was! Causing trouble for them as soon as he opened his mouth.

“What do you think I am doing?” Master Xiao said angrily. He now found another target for his rage to be unleashed. Now Master Xiao was certain that it was all because Guo Zian wanted his daughter to marry a mer from a poor family such that he would be able to kick her aside in the future.

When he thought about how Guo Zian had been scheming against him for such a long time, his eyes started to spew fire. No wonder this mer was acting all nice with his daughters. So this was his plan!

He was to lead his daughters astray from the right part.

“I am just telling a certain someone to not have any weird dreams and ideas,” he pointedly said while eyeing Li Cui with a great distaste. “My daughter will marry Xiao Yong. That mer is not only sweet but also very hard working. I don’t need a son-in-law whose face will cause disaster for me and my daughter.”

“You—”

“Uncle, do you want an ugly son-in-law because you are ugly as well?” Before Guo Zian could say anything more, Yu Mai who was standing silently on the side spoke up. Even though he didn’t understand anything, he understood one thing —Master Xiao disliked a beautiful mer.

Brother Hua told him that only those who were ugly would hate those who were beautiful. As no one disliked good-looking things. And Yu Mai had to admit that Brother Hua was correct.

So, if Master Xiao did not like someone good-looking then certainly he liked someone who was ugly right?

His words caused an awkward silence to stretch across the shop, even the shopkeeper who was trying her hardest to ignore the quarrel that was taking place in her shop, had to cover her mouth with her hand.

It was terribly funny for others but Master Xiao, who was called ugly didn’t find it amusing at all.

“You—you money-losing thing how dare you—” he began but before he could finish speaking, Yu Le walked over to where Master Xiao was standing and raised his hand.

SLAP!

The sound of slap echoed in the shop causing everyone to turn and look at Master Xiao who looked at Yu Le in shock. He was holding his cheek that was slapped by Yu Le and glaring at him furiously.

“You—you dared to slap me?” Master Xiao said to Yu Le with an affronted expression.

Yu Le sneered and remarked, “I wish to do something worse than just slapping you but I am holding back because you are the husband of my niece’s friend. But don’t think that we will let your actions slide like your wife or family.”

“We are not your family who would let everything slide, understand? You disrespected me yesterday and I did not say anything to you but don’t think that you can run your mouth as you like because of that!”

Master Xiao covered his cheek which was stinging harshly. He wanted to say something but the second he opened his mouth, he was dragged behind by Guo Zian who stared hard at him.

“Have you lost your mind, Master Xiao?” Guo Zian asked with a snarl that sounded like a wild beast. “Why are you embarrassing our family like this? Is this something you should be saying to a mer that young? And that too to someone who doesn’t belong to our family?”

“Quickly apologise!”

Apologise? Apologise to whom? This little mer?

Master Xiao was someone who refused to apologise to Yu Le how could he even think of apologising to a child?

He absolutely refuses to do such a thing.

“Why! Why should I apologise? I have not done anything wrong. You want me to apologise to a child, have you lost your mind, Brother Zian?” After speaking Master Xiao turned around and left the shop but he didn’t forget to take the hairpin with him.

“Hey, that hairpin—” the shopkeeper began but Master Xiao did not stop instead he rushed even faster.

Guo Zian saw through his actions and was so angry that he laughed.

“Please don’t worry,” said Guo Zian as he turned to look at the shopkeeper. “Tell us the price of the hairpin, we will pay for it.”

“Sister…” Kong Li looked at Kong Pili whose face was completely ashen. She was looking at Li Cui who was looking anywhere but her.

Though Master Xiao did not say anything directly, everyone knew whom he was scolding.

Li Cui was so smart, he must have understood as well. And given that he was not looking at Kong Pili, it could be seen that he was blaming her.

Kong Pili pursed her lips and then walked out of the shop. She was going to tell her daddy that she was not going to marry Xiao Yong. That mer was lazy and only knew how to take advantage of others.

She didn’t want to marry a mer like that!

Seeing Kong Pili step out of the shop, Kong Li followed. However as soon as they turned around the counter someone reached out and picked them up—
