“You killed them?” One of the men in his twenties was staggered as he looked at the young boy with a cold face and a guarded look, with incredulity in his eyes.

This kid didn’t look more than ten years old or so, did he? He actually killed that one-eyed dragon?

Hao’er stared at the three people in front of him, a dark glint flashed by his eyes. Of these three, two were mid Foundation Establishment cultivators, and a middle-aged man side was a Golden Core cultivator.

He pondered in his mind for a while, and under the probing and dismayed gazes of those three, he swept over the badges on the mercenary uniforms on their chests and spoke, “You are mercenaries?”

The middle-aged man put away his astonishment as he looked at the several people, his gaze skimming over the Seventeen who was wearing a guard’s outfit, and then looked at the two tiny figures behind him, frowning before finally landing his gaze on the young boy who was around ten years old and said, “As you can see, we are indeed mercenaries.”

...

Upon hearing this, the sword in Hao’er’s hand pointed towards the dead one-eyed man, and her voice said coldly, “I killed this man, and all the valuable things on his body will be given to you guys as payment for me hiring you to escort us out of the forest.”

Hearing this, the middle-aged man raised his eyebrows, staring at the little boy, his heart was curious, what kind of family raised this child? At such a young age, he actually had such a courage to stay calm in a crisis, and he was also able to handle things calmly like this.

“What a shameless child, this person was obviously surrounded by us making him seriously injured, otherwise with your strength how could you have killed him!” A man next to him snorted coldly, feeling that the belongings on this man’s body should have been their mercenary team’s in the first place.

Hao’er’s gaze fell on the man and said, “He died under my sword.”

The young man was annoyed and was about to speak when the middle-aged man raised his hand in a gesture to stop him.

“Even if what you said is true, this person was killed by you, and the property is also counted as yours, but, we could have also killed you guys, then the property would naturally be ours as well, and it would be even more of a crime to go and escort you guys out of the forest, don’t you think so?” The middle-aged man stared at Hao’er with a smile at the corner of his mouth, his meaning unclear.

Hao’er looked at the middle-aged man and spoke in an unhurried manner, “A mercenary team that has been certified by the Mercenary Guild should normally not choose to kill people and cross the border, not to mention, protecting our few children and getting a large amount of belongings from this man, you guys aren’t at a disadvantage.”

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man smiled, “I can see that you are not a child of an ordinary family, alright! I’ll take the lead and accept this mission of yours.”

“Vice Captain!” A young man beside him shouted with some disapproval.

“No matter, we happen to be going back anyway, what’s more, they’re just a few kids, by the way!” That middle-aged man said, before signalling, “Go, take everything on the Cyclops.”

“Yes.” Those two men answered and went forward, removing everything from the other’s body before standing by his side.

“You guys follow!” The middle-aged man said, turned around and walked back.

Behind him, Hao’er’s few people followed from afar. Muchen lowered his voice and asked, “Big Brother, are these people trustworthy?”

Hao’er walked forward while saying, “The badges on their chests are verified regular mercenary teams, this kind of mercenary is not an outlaw, some of them will have family members and children as well, so bringing along a few of us children and having a reward to get, they usually won’t think further, but even so, we have to be careful.”
