MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1513 - 1513: Myriad Prodigies: End (1)

“…var…!”

“Yl… wake…!”

“…wake up!”

“Ylvar, please wake up!”

“Nngh…”

As if his subconscious wanted the person screaming at him to wake up to stop, Valyr gradually returned to the waking world feeling as if he’d just clawed his way out of a deep mire.

Taking a bit of time to assess where he was with his current senses, the young man inwardly relaxed the moment he began to feel something soft cushion his back.

Then, giving himself some time to assess how his body fared after the fight, he eventually opened his eyes, eliciting a series of relieved sighs to echo around him a few seconds later.

“…” Taking a quick look at the area to see where he currently was, Valyr was briefly left stunned after seeing the three arbiters sitting beside him, all of them with relieved expressions on their faces.

Sensing a faint connection manifest in his mind a few seconds later, the young man then turned his head to the right, only for him to see his other identity still lying on a bed unconscious.

“…Ah.”

With two and two put together, it did not take long for Valyr to understand what was going on, prompting him to take in a deep breath as he looked at Julian and the others.

“What… happened?” he asked, confident that the three knew what he wanted to know.

“…We won,” responded Julian after giving it a bit of thought, to which the young man nodded in understanding before smiling in return.

“I don’t know what you did back there, but we’ve gotten confirmation that Erika is now truly and utterly dead.”

“Glad to hear,” said Valyr in response, inwardly letting out yet another sigh of relief at those words. “How about the director? How is she doing?”

“She’s currently sorting out the amphitheater and the tournament with the kingdom,” replied Eliathaea, giving the young man a slightly wry smile. “…Though she did take a bit of rest after the fight was well and truly over.”

Though Valyr could not help but frown at the first part, the young man eventually nodded once more. “How about the participants I recruited in the fight?”

“Some were fully exhausted, but none of them were severely injured during the fight whatsoever,” answered Liam, gazing at the young man with a look that told the latter to let them handle it.

“In any case, you should take some more time to rest. You at least deserve to have that, especially considering how much you’ve done throughout the entire fight.”

“I definitely will.” The young man reassured Liam, giving the man a comforting smile. “Just wanted to get more information on the entire thing.”

“I did fall unconscious after the fight was over, after all.” He let out a slight chuckle.

“Speaking of which… what happened to him?” he asked soon after, pointing at the unconscious Ataraxia on the bed beside him.

“Honestly… we don’t know either.” Looking at the two arbiters for a bit, Julian looked back at the young man and shrugged. “By the time we were checking if any of the other participants that stayed were injured, we just found him on the ground unconscious.”

“…I see.” The young man could only nod, even though he knew that the actual reason why Ataraxia was unconscious was all because of him.

Talking for a bit more with the three regarding the aftermath of the fight against Erika, Valyr was eventually left alone by the three with his other identity, finally giving him the space he needed to fully unwind.

“Haah…” Lying down on the bed once more, the young man let out a long and wide sigh of relief. “That… was tiring.”

Closing his eyes for a bit to recover a bit more of his energy, Valyr soon turned his head to the side before sending a message to his other identity through their shared thoughts.

‘Wake up.’

‘…Are they gone?’

‘They are.’ Inwardly shaking his head at his other identity, the young man watched Ataraxia slowly get up from his bed, only to let out a sigh a few seconds later.

‘…What?’ Ataraxia looked back at Valyr, not understanding why the latter sighed all of a sudden. ‘Is it because I fell unconscious when you did?’

‘It’s not that.’ Letting out yet another sigh, the young man sent a reply to Ataraxia’s question as he got up from his bed.

‘It’s just that… don’t you feel like we’re still lacking in strength?’

‘I mean…’ Giving the question a bit of thought, Ataraxia looked back at Valyr with a wry smile. ‘We’ve already realized that the first time we fought against Erika, no?’

‘Although we can stand toe to toe against a proper Rank 6 being, that doesn’t mean we have the means to actually defeat them.’

‘The same goes for a peak Rank 7 being,’ Valyr continued, nodding in response to his other identity’s words. ‘If we go all-out, we definitely have the means to fight against a peak Rank 7 being… even defeat them if need be.’

‘But what about after the fight?’

At those words, both of them remained silent, looking at each other as the two of them exchanged thoughts back and forth.

Of course, with the experience they’ve accumulated while fighting Myths thus far, the two could easily say that after a fight of that level, they would fall into a state so weak that even a peak Rank 1 being would be able to kill them.

In fact, that thought made them wonder…

If Valyr hadn’t killed Erika off at that state, what would have happened to him the moment all of the buffs deactivated?

‘…Never mind.’

Shuddering at the what-if scenario that popped up in their minds, the two decided not to think about it any further, instead choosing to think about how their side won just for a bit longer.

Although a great portion of the amphitheater was destroyed during the fight against Erika, the three arbiters assured Valyr that it would only take a few days for the amphitheater to be brought back to the way it was before.

At the same time, they also informed him that all of the remaining participants in the final round actively supported the notion of him being the champion of the Myriad Prodigies Tournament.

Of course, such a notion was not without reason.

After all, if even a person who could defeat a peak Rank 7 being was not crowned as the champion of the tournament… then who would?

‘Let’s pay a visit to Lunarossa after this.’ Sending a message to Ataraxia on what he was about to do next, Valyr briefly glanced at the door after that, which the latter quickly understood what he needed to do.

Nodding in response as he assured him that no one would disturb on his next conversation, Ataraxia soon left Valyr on his own, allowing the latter to conjure a barrier covering the entire room before taking out the talisman Vaughn had given him.

Sensing that the connection between the talisman and the otherworldly realm was still there, the young man looked at it for a bit before asking a question.

‘…You know what I want to ask, right?’
