MYTH BEYOND HEAVEN

Chapter 2722 - 2722: Strange Young Woman

The young woman twirled her sword, the silver light slicing through the darkness, severing the creatures’ shadowy forms. She laughed, a melodious sound that echoed through the gloom, a stark contrast to the creatures’ guttural growls.

“Oh, you’re so slow!” she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Can’t even catch a little rabbit!”

She feinted, dodging a creature’s shadowy claw, and then spun, her sword slicing through its form, dissipating it into wisps of darkness.

“Young Miss, please!” a helpless voice resounded from behind her. A tall woman, dressed in dark, practical robes, followed her, her expression a mixture of exasperation and concern. “Please, be careful! Your father will be furious if he finds out you’ve sneaked out again!”

The young woman paused, her sword still humming with faint energy. She turned, her dark blue eyes twinkling.

“Oh, come on, Aunt Liu,” she said, her voice laced with playful defiance. “Where’s your sense of adventure? Besides, these little shadows are no match for me!”

She gestured towards the dissipating remnants of the creatures of darkness. “See? They’re like toys!”

Aunt Liu sighed, her expression resigned. “That’s not the point, Young Miss. This place is dangerous. We should return to the palace.”

“Palace? Boring!” The young woman pouted, her expression childlike. “I want to explore! There’s so much to see!”

She turned back to the remaining creatures of darkness, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

“Besides,” she said, her voice dropping to a whisper, “I heard there’s a powerful cultivator wandering around here. I want to meet him!”

Aunt Liu’s eyes widened. “A powerful cultivator? Young Miss, that’s even more reason to return to the palace! We don’t know who he is or what his intentions are!”

The young woman waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t worry, Aunt Liu. I can handle myself. Besides, I’m curious. Maybe he’s interesting.”

She grinned, her expression mischievous. “And maybe, he’ll be a good playmate.”

She turned back to the remaining creatures of darkness, her sword flashing, her laughter echoing through the gloom.

Aunt Liu sighed, her expression a mixture of worry and resignation. She knew that arguing with her young miss was futile. She could only follow her, hoping to keep her out of trouble.

The young woman’s name was Hei Yue. It was evident that this wasn’t her first time sneaking out.

Suddenly, Hei Yue paused, her playful demeanor shifting to one of intense interest. She tilted her head, her dark blue eyes scanning the darkness.

“Aunt Liu,” she said, her voice low and excited, “I sense a powerful aura. It’s… different. It’s heading towards the palace.”

Aunt Liu’s eyes widened, her expression turning alarmed. “Young Miss, be careful! That could be the cultivator we were warned about!”

Hei Yue grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Exactly! I want to see him!”

Without waiting for Aunt Liu’s response, Hei Yue sped up, her white robe flowing behind her, her black hair dancing in the dark wind. She moved with incredible speed, her sword humming with anticipation.

“Young Miss, wait!” Aunt Liu cried out, her voice filled with worry. “This is dangerous! Please, come back!”

Unfortunately, Hei Yue ignored her, her focus solely on the powerful aura that was drawing her in. Aunt Liu sighed, her expression resigned. She knew that she couldn’t stop her young miss. She could only follow, hoping to protect her from any harm.

Meanwhile, Yun Lintian, now disguised as Zhang Hu, flew through the Eternal Darkness Realm, his movements swift and silent. He navigated the darkness with ease, his senses alert for any signs of danger.

Along the way, he encountered other members of the Darkness Palace, their forms appearing from the shadows, their eyes scrutinizing him. But Yun Lintian, now disguised as their leader, greeted them with a calm and authoritative demeanor.

“Team Leader Zhang, where are you going?” one of them asked, his voice respectful.

“I have urgent matters to attend to,” Yun Lintian replied, his voice firm and commanding. “Do not disturb me.”

The Darkness Palace member bowed his head, his expression respectful. “Yes.”

Yun Lintian continued his journey, his disguise holding up perfectly.

As he flew, Yun Lintian’s mind raced, processing the information he had gleaned from Zhang Hu’s memories. The structure of the Darkness Palace wasn’t as complex as he had initially thought.

There were ten Palace Masters, each commanding a significant force, and above them stood Mu Ren, a figure of immense power and influence. Zhang Hu was a subordinate of one of these Palace Masters.

“It seems,” Yun Lintian mused to himself, his voice low, “that I have stumbled upon a nest of vipers.”

He considered his options. A direct confrontation with Mu Ren would be a risky move, especially with the God of Darkness’s attention already on him. He needed a more strategic approach.

“Perhaps,” he thought, his eyes narrowing, “I should deal with these Palace Masters one by one, starting with Zhang Hu’s superior. Eliminate them, weaken Mu Ren’s forces, and gather more information.”

While Yun Lintian was thinking about his next move, he suddenly sensed a strange aura approaching him at an alarming speed. It was a chaotic yet playful energy, a stark contrast to the oppressive darkness of the realm. He turned his head, his senses heightened, his expression cautious.

A figure emerged from the gloom, a young woman dressed in white, her black hair dancing in the dark wind. Her dark blue eyes sparkled with an almost childlike curiosity, and she wielded a long, slender sword that shimmered with a faint, silver light.

“Found you!” she exclaimed, her voice light and playful, echoing through the darkness. “You’re the powerful aura I sensed!”

Yun Lintian’s eyes widened slightly. He had never seen this young woman before, nor did he recognize her aura. He quickly tried to recall any information from Zhang Hu’s memory, but he couldn’t find anything related to her.

Who is she? he wondered, his mind racing. He knew that she was no ordinary cultivator. Her dark energy was boundless, a force that could rival even the strongest True Gods. She must be some sort of high-ranking powerhouse’s descendant.

He quickly composed himself, maintaining his disguise as Zhang Hu. He bowed slightly, his expression respectful.

“Greetings, Young Miss,” he said, his voice calm and steady. “I am Zhang Hu, a team leader of the Darkness Palace.”

“Oh? You know me?” Hei Yue said playfully.

Yun Lintian shook his head and said. “Honestly, I didn’t know you, Young Miss. But we’re currently at the inner area of the palace. Outsiders are not allowed here. So, you must be a member of our Darkness Palace.”

“Clever!” Hei Yue chuckled playfully. “Why don’t you take off your disguise, and we will talk about it?”
