Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5640: You Really Piss Me Off!

To the Heavenly Demon Golden Monkey race, Long Chen’s words were the ultimate insult.

Gritting his teeth, Hou Tianwu gloomily said, “Human, do you know that your race was nothing more than slaves at first? They were a commodity to the rest of the ten thousand races, prey to our demon race. What right do you have to mock the great demon race?”

Long Chen’s words had evidently struck a nerve, pushing Hou Tianwu to dredge up the human race’s tragic history. But rather than faltering, Long Chen’s sneer deepened.

“The great demon race? What a joke. If you were so great, why would you take human form? Why would you undergo the Human Emperor tribulation? If you’re so superior, skip that step. You look down on the human race but imitate our cultivation methods, wield our weapons, and rely on our craftsmanship. You’re nothing more than shameless, honorless animals.”

Long Chen’s voice dripped with disdain. When it came to cursing people, Long Chen never conceded, especially not to a pack of brainless demonic beasts.

Hearing this insult, Hou Tianwu gripped his staff so hard that it was creaking. A vein throbbed on his forehead.

“You fool. Because you are a nine star heir, I was planning on letting you live a bit longer. Are you in such a rush to reincarnate?” demanded Hou Tianwu.

“Fool?” Long Chen mocked. “With your intelligence, there’s no way you’ll figure out my power, let alone extract any secrets about the nine-star line. Stop dreaming.”

Long Chen easily saw through Hou Tianwu’s intention. The latter had been angling for information, pausing in hopes that Long Chen might reveal something. But his plans were as transparent as glass to Long Chen. As he had been exposed, his fury grew, flames seemingly ready to burst from his eyes.

“Damn human! If you won’t speak, I’ll force you to!” he roared.

Golden flames erupted from Hou Tianwu, engulfing the battlefield in a radiant sea of light. As he vanished, so did Long Chen.

Without warning, golden light condensed in front of Tang Wan-er, revealing Hou Tianwu’s figure. Seeing this, Xiao Yue and the others cried out in shock and instinctively attacked.

“Fuck off, you ugly monkey. Don’t scare my woman!” shouted Long Chen.

A brick smashed into the back of Hou Tianwu’s head, crushing his golden light defense and sending him flying like a loser.

Hou Tianwu had planned to capture Tang Wan-er, hoping to use her as leverage against Long Chen. He could then make Long Chen reveal his secret. But Long Chen had anticipated this tactic. With the Heaven Flipping Seal in hand, Long Chen easily intercepted him.

Long Chen immediately put away the brick and swung Evilmoon, shooting after Hou Tianwu. Each of his attacks contained wild astral energy.

Seeing this scene, Hou Tianwu roared and defended with all his might. For eighteen strikes, he held his ground, but the nineteenth broke through. Evilmoon then sliced across his waist.

However, no blood appeared. Some mysterious power had blocked Evilmoon. After that, Hou Tianwu used the moment to leap back, escaping the chain of attacks. Long Chen didn’t pursue him. The chance was gone, so continuing the attack would be futile.

Hou Tianwu’s prowess was undeniable. Even with Long Chen attacking at close range, he managed to block eighteen strikes in rapid succession. His combat instincts were razor-sharp.

Such high-speed exchanges were beyond the capacity of the naked eye. Experts of their caliber relied more on intuition and experience, which had to be cultivated through blood and fire.

“You’re even wearing armor crafted by humans,” sneered Long Chen, his voice dripping with disdain. “If it weren’t for this so-called treasure, you’d already be in two pieces. Don’t forget to thank my race for saving your pathetic life.”

Long Chen’s words cut deep. Hou Tianwu indeed looked down on the human race, but he wielded a weapon forged by humans and donned their armor. How ironic.

Hou Tianwu’s expression twisted in rage. Long Chen’s attacks had been unpredictable and ferocious, giving him no chance to breathe. For the first time, he couldn’t fight back at all.

Glancing down, Hou Tianwu saw a long tear in his golden silk armor, with blood seeping from the edges. This armor was a treasure of the Heavenly Demon Golden Monkey race, and it was crafted from the silk of the primal chaos era’s golden spirit silkworm—a material believed to be indestructible. Infused with divine runes, its defensive capabilities were unmatched. Or so he had thought.

Evilmoon had just sliced through it as if it were mere cloth. Hou Tianwu could feel the divine energy within the armor rapidly dissipating. This one-of-a-kind treasure, a relic of a bygone era, had been utterly ruined.

Hou Tianwu was filled with pain over this. After all, golden spirit silkworms had long since gone extinct. This was a truly one-of-a-kind treasure.

With his armor damaged, he understood that another close-range clash with Long Chen might very well cost him his life. The sharpness of Evilmoon was beyond anything he had ever encountered. ℞Ἀ₦ꝊВĘs̩

“You humans were nothing more than livestock!” Hou Tianwu suddenly roared, his face contorted with fury. “We caged you, raised you, and feasted on you! Making you forge weapons and armor for us was only natural! Back then, you willingly offered your souls and blood as tribute!”

“Your mouth really is irritating. Again, if you have such pride, why do you take human form to cultivate?” taunted Long Chen.

“Isn’t it because of that bastard Nine Star Master?! He’s the one who broke the natural order, who rewrote the laws of cultivation! Do you think we want to take human form? It’s all because of him!” roared Hou Tianwu.

Long Chen’s heart trembled. He had long heard rumors that the Human Emperor realm’s secrets were tied to the human race. Now, hearing it directly from a figure of the primal chaos era gave the claim some weight. Could the Nine Star Master have intentionally altered the cultivation path of the ten thousand races? But why? What was his ultimate goal?

“You really piss me off!” Hou Tianwu roared, his body shaking.

His pupils turned bloodshot, and his golden fur started to ripple like waves. Sharp fangs extended from his mouth, giving him a feral wild appearance.

“Human, you’ve enraged the great prince! Your fate is sealed!” jeered the surrounding Heavenly Demon Golden Monkey race experts, their voices echoing with savage delight.

Hou Tianwu’s gaze flicked to Long Chen’s companions, and his expression twisted with cruelty.

“Shut your mouth! Go capture those women!” he barked.

“You really are courting death,” said Long Chen, his voice low and ice-cold.

The next moment, astral flames ignited around Long Chen, and a crushing pressure descended upon the battlefield, silencing the jeers in an instant.
