Number One Dungeon Supplier

Chapter 2082: Extra: Bamboo Village Transformation

"How are the preparations?" Gara finally came into the dungeon portal as the Rifle Mages hustled alongside the Pandarians to shore up the defences. One of the Rifle Mage Team Leaders reported the status that with Jin’s Isolation Barrier as part of their defensive plans, they had placed impromptu defensive emplacements around the entire village.

"But considering the size of the village and the scale of the invaders, it might not be sufficient to even hold out for long. One of the Star Foxes used to be my friend. He sent me …an image of the invading orcs and it did not look like a pretty picture." The Rifle Mage Leader said as he showed Gara a stoic bird that had crystalised with Mana.

Only with magic could the bird open its wings and reveal the holographic picture that it wished to show,

Gara could already foresee the numbers and finally understood why he felt a sense of uneasiness from a distance. There was no way he could shake it off and knew that the Star Foxes were definitely risking their lives just to keep the enemies at bay. But at what cost, that was one thing he really wished to find out, in hopes that they do not die meaninglessly against the horde of Dune Shell Orcs.

"Place the magic traps and set up the mobile artillery so that we can contact the Star Foxes to provide them with some long range-" Gara suddenly sense a huge shift in the surroundings especially when it comes to mana presence. The ground was uneven for a moment and the tremors that came was causing the place to shake at a constant pace.

But that was not without reason. Walls made out of Bamboo were suddenly growing as if they were alive. It became thicker, and subsequently, more of it grew to the point that it started to look as if it was a ’respectable’ set of defences.

Gara could feel that those Bamboo that serves as the village walls had magic inside of it, and it was capable to keeping the enemies out for a certain period of time. He deduced that even with the Rifle Mage’s standard explosive shot would not be able to take it out as easily as it should.

However what amazed him was not just the growth of the walls. The sets of mobile artillery and cannons for defensive purposes which the Rifle Mages had hauled in were suddenly being taken by bambooish vines and they were currently being transported to various locations on the wall itself as the bamboo walls continue to grow in height and size.

It was to the point that it the isolation barrier was an obstacle for its growth.

Yet when it was near the isolation barrier, the barrier somehow allowed the walls’ protrusive expansion and not hindering its seemingly planned placement. Soon the village houses itself suddenly turned into armoured bamboo bunkers and trenches were being dug out magically to ensure that the place was growing to something akin to a defensive fortress.

"I guess this must be King Jin’s doing." Gara said casually as he could soon faintly sense Jin’s chi and magic flowing through the Bamboo Village. The rest cheered as the village was not as defenceless as it was since there were proper walls and modern defensive emplacements placed around the entire place.

Still, what surprised them the most was the advent of Bamboo Statues. The Bamboo Shoots themselves seemed to be shaping, or if one could say mutation, since it did not look like the bamboo was growing exponentially in size but a change in size. Those bamboo shoots and trees around the newly created Bamboo Fortress had turned into statues of Pandas.

It was to the point that Gara suspected that these statues could possibly be the some sort of defensive ’trap’ as well where they could be activated when the Orcs came too close. The deduction became even more prominent as more bamboo shoots started turning into statues of Pandas.

It was to the point, it felt like the experimentation stage was just beginning as three or more Bamboo Shoots not only shape but merge together to produce a even larger Bamboo Statue of a Panda.

It was to the point where Gara felt that if the Dune Shell Orcs did not invade the place, this might actually be a a great attraction for people to come take a look. (Oh, if Jin ever hear such a suggestion, he might actually use that for his original store where he got back to it.) And things did not seem be to done in the Bamboo Fortress as well.

Those artillery and cannons were also being replicated with Bamboo, even the emplacement guns as well as they were all being created with everything that had the element of wood and aesthetic of bamboo.

It was to the point where a few Rifle Mages felt that they might be the next thing to be replicated by this unknown magic surrounding them. But to their relief that did not happen since the next thing that emerge out was not the replicas of Rifle Mages but a huge bamboo sprouting out from the ground.

The Rifle Mages had already kept their amazement to the minimum but this new giant Bamboo was something they really did not expect to realise.

And to keep the surprise coming, the internodes of the Giant Bamboo Tree started to open like windows, revealing beings which were not describable to most except to Gara since he was exposed to such a concept by Jin and Kraft. This further reinforced that it was his king’s doing as the beings revealed were squarish in nature.

Bamboo made Mechas.

They started to take off from the internodes as the sheathes of the bamboo closed to open once more to reveal another one. It was then Gara realised what Jin was doing. He was practically using this chance to create an army of autonomous Mechas which could not have been done without the proper materials.

But for some reason, and if he had his information gathered correctly, Jin was using the god of Bamboo to create the items he wanted from this place and decided to test them against the unknown threat of Dune Shell Orcs that they were about to fight.
