Chapter 2145: The Dashavatara (Kurma, Varaha) -Part 13

The two Dashavatara dashed into the Royal Castle of Ress despite the fact that Matsya wanted the Dashavatara to work together. He opened this telepathy consult to have better coordination among the armies and pull a decisive blow against the humans. However, the other Celestial Avatars also felt the same way that they should just aim for the boss, just as how the Rifle Mages had aimed for them.

Yet at the same time, their armies needed them to ensure their survival and if they did not keep the rank and file busy, the humans would definitely make things difficult for the group. They would continue to target the Celestial Avatars especially when the Dashavatara do not have any idea how to remove this so called poisonous effect.

Even Siddhartha Buddha was unable to identify this effect and the use of remove poison or remove curse was not working against it. There was currently no other way to protect it other than to create buffers so that they would not get injured.

That was the resulting directive of this particular consult and the Celestial Avatars sent down the information quickly, telling the armies to be cautious of the effects.

This advice was particularly effective for those who had suffered the effects once and they did not wish to experience it again. But the armies that entered late, did not take that advice to heart until much later since they did not experience it themselves and continued to rush in.

It was only until when dawn breaks that some of them had decidedly proposed that they should fight in melee range against the Rifle Mages.

The enemies had obviously always kept a distance and shot but they do not seem to have any protection against any melee combat, considering how they always evade and fight comfortably away from them.

Therefore, Kurma and Varaha, who were currently the leading Celestial Avatars in the two varying battlefields, had decided to command their troops to bullrush into their defences regardless of the cost.

The Avatars would continue to revive them while Krishna had decided to support them from afar with his area wide support. For once, he had decided to keep quiet and he lost his aloof appearance after learning that his brother had been killed by these savage humans.

Hence, the War Tortoises and War Boars did not keep any reservations nor perform any coordination in destroying and tearing the artificial walls that the humans had made.

That was when they realised that their plans were for naught.

They had no idea that aside from the Rifle Mages, there were close combat mages ready for action and they were even more menacing than the Rifle Mages. The Ress officers had kept these combatants close at hand by disguising them as mere Riflemen defending the area. They had told them not to fly and support the current rotations of Rifle Mages until the time was right.

And that was when the War Tortoises and War Boars had finally broken through the distance and rampaged through their walls. That was not done by mere War Tortoises or War Boars alone. The Avatars purposely merged several of these entities of theirs into a larger target. Some of them were even bigger than the Avatars themselves in order to present a frightening side of their rank and files.

Without a doubt, a huge target meant it was easy for the Rifle Mages to throw their bullets and their tanks to waste their shells on it. However, it was also precisely due to the fact that they were larger, and fused with tens of their own people within it, the Giant War Tortoise and Giant War Boar became temporarily invincible.

They had the lives of at least fifty over Celestials in them and that means that even if they were killed once, they could instantly switch to the next life, continuing the rampage despite the damage taken.

This was the temporary solution that Vamana their in house tactician had introduced. It did work and the Giant War Tortoises and Giant War Boars had managed to destroy the first few layers of the defensive lines in their respective battlefields. This also allowed the gigantic celestials to finally unleash their offensive skills in close combat.

But that was where the Blade Mages came in.

Knowing that the Celestials would have the capability to fight both on air, sea and land, Ress Military knew the weakness of the Rifle Mages despite their strong offensive and defensive capabilities. They had been trained in multiple scenarios where their rifles would act as mystic axes and lances to fight against the enemies.

However, it was not enough for Jin the moment he and the original System had reunited. He had consulted the Mousefolk of the Farming World. Their warriors had created 3D manoeuvring gear systems to increase their agility. With Improvised Smithing, Jin had managed to create a new 3D Manoeuvring Gear, or as he dubbed it the 5D Manoeuvring Gear System or 5DM Gear since it used magic as well. Read new chapters at empire

Unlike the usual Rifle Mages, the Blade Mages were equipped with 5DM because they were not only able to power up their agility through the gear system but also use their magical power to propel the 5DM Gear System, breaking speeds that were not possible for even an enhanced Rifle Mage to react in time.

If one were to rate an average Blade Mage with the latest 5DM Gear System, they would be at least at the rank of EX-E tier and since they were fighting against the Celestials, their weapons had been smithed with the compound within them. They were also further coated with an Anti Celestial compound agent to provide the necessary edge on first contact.

The moment those Giant War Tortoises and Giant War Boars broke through the walls, the Blade Mages immediately removed their cloaks and sped towards the Giant Celestials, preparing to eliminate every single one of them before they proved to be a bigger menace to the current defensive lines that Ress had set up.
