Chapter 2236: Operation Dreaded Winter -Part 24

"The fortress wall is not as omnipotent as we thought it would be. They probably need a medium to look after the area." Moloch said to the panel of demon strategists sitting right in front of him. For now, they were not the lords or ladies of Demopolis Armies but rather the orc leaders that had been called upon to lead so that they would gain more experience for the upcoming Mecha Universe War.

"Then shall we split up the ranged attacks?" One of the Orc Leaders asked.

"We can do interval attacks, and at a randomised position depending on the call outs so that they cannot predict where we are aiming next." Another Orc Leader said and the rest were nodding their heads but Moloch squinted his eyes at the footage for the moment to see if he could see if he missed out anything.

"That would not be a bad idea but we had no intentions to use most of our ranged attacks until we conquered the outer walls, isn't that the initial operation plan?" Moloch questioned and suddenly all the sheep that were following one's opinion stopped to whisper among themselves. "We just so happened to counter them because they were going to send out the cavalry to stop our advancements. I do not think the defenders would be so absent minded after that setback." Moloch replied as he looked at his console area once more to check the status of the horde.

Everything was moving well despite the fight the humans were making. It was not an understatement to say that these group of defenders were a skilful bunch of martial experts. Most of the soldiers were able to fight multiple goblins before getting impaled by them, meaning that they were serving their part for the war instead of just being a body shield for the city to utilise.

Still, the humans expected the first wave of defenders would hold a little longer than what they were experiencing. The goblins were fierce mainly because there was nothing to hold than back. All of the minions were able to return to the System if they were killed and their duty was done for this particular operation.

Naturally, some would prefer to slack while others happened to be inherently hardworking and the System rewards systematically based on their performance. The Orc Strategists were in the same boat as them but just when they found that they need to coordinate so much things from the pace of the demon horde, to basic things such as food and essentials had made them felt that they rather have an axe on their hand to cut something down.

That was when Moloch felt that all the smart orcs had already been taken by the System's Research Department, particularly by Ayse whom she had mercilessly picked those who had a talent for mental work without a blink of an eye. Jin knew that there was nothing he could do because the System Research Department had been churning out inventions after inventions to the point where those prototypes could have a museum of their own to show their past and history. "Its fine. You guys do not have to think so much. Just follow my orders for now. We would not hit in a randomised pattern but rather, we would do the same as them. Shoot once from all angles and see if there are any holes in their defences. It is from there we deduce whether we would want to waste goblins going into the living fortress wall or we blast it hard enough that the medium controlling the wall would be killed in the process. After all, we are not taking the city for our own use. Master Jin said that we could just level the entire place but leave no one alive."

"Boss Jin could have just asked Peppers to shoot a big magical comet from the sky to decimate the entire city. We do not need to do this at all…" One of the Orc Strategists said ever so bluntly the very thing that was on the mind of every single Orc at this particular table with a real time holographic picture of the current battle they were having.

Moloch sighed and understood where they were coming from. Why waste time training the Demons and minions about traditional warfare? They were already from the age of such warfare and while this would give experience to the newer folks such as the Demon Rats and maybe the newly drafted orcs (through reproduction or from the Goblin World), most could not see why Jin would have done this.

Of course, the initial objective was to scare the humans in the Southern Kingdom Alliance and Ress would come save the day but that particular objective had already changed the moment Jin started to request the entire cities to be slaughtered so that he could make the automated factories in his earnest.

"You know what? Let's call him, shall we?" Moloch asked and the Orc Leaders suddenly had metaphorical cold feet upon hearing their lead strategist were to suggest hitting up their actual Master for the answer. And before they could open their mouth to say no, Moloch already had the System to put the line on speaker phone.

"Sup Moloch, any problems with the invasion? From what I am seeing…it seems okay?" Jin replied and Moloch smiled through his soft toyish mouth.

"The Orcs here are wondering why you do not want to ask Peppers to just shoot a comet down? She would have loved the chance to do that instead of this pointless fighting."

"Eh. Yeah I know it's pointless but I figured that the Orcs would like something similar to this? From what I heard through the System is that they had been pretending to lose when they were fighting against the cultivators and other Pandarens. So, I thought a change of pace would give them some breathing space, release that inner lust for battle.

"Well…they sure do want an axe in their hands and chop some stuff down than strategizing the next step in battle."

"Then let them be. I figured I tortured them enough trying to organise all these Horde marches through the snow." Jin laughed as he placed his hand at the side of his cheek. "In fact, if you want them to just rampage without any care about formation and organisation, I think that's fine too?"

"Are you serious? Won't that incur even more expenses?"

"Nah, just treat this as a special occasion to let them loose. Otherwise when we really go to the Mecha Universe, they have to follow orders to the T to ensure that we get spaceships, mecha robots etc….it would suck to be all work no play. Besides, I put you in this Demon Horde nonsense is also to give you a breather. The System said that you are working to the bones with the latest projects by Ayse."

"Well…" Moloch shrugged as he realised that he had been worrying a tad too much as well. "Go forth then." He smiled to the Orcs as he also took out his personal pack of cards and fiddled around with them, knowing that he had gotten permission to release some steam too.
