Chapter 812: Chapter 812: Ling Zhongru

“It’s a message from Huang Yao,” Fang Lin’s brows knitted slightly as he listened intently.

The emblem of the Pill Alliance allows pill refiners to leave a mark on each other and use the emblem for communication, which is more convenient than using a Message Transmitting Jade Slip.

“A call for help?” After listening, Fang Lin put away the emblem and headed straight for the location Huang Yao had mentioned.

Two hours later, Fang Lin found Huang Yao and some other people.

“Fang Lin, you finally arrived,” Huang Yao said as he was anxiously waiting. Seeing Fang Lin appear was like seeing a savior.

Fang Lin looked around; there were quite a few people gathered here, at least a dozen. Essentially, the other Hall Master Descendants were already here.

Seeing Fang Lin arrive, everyone became vigilant. The infamous reputation of a vicious thief was not in vain; although they were lucky not to have been robbed by Fang Lin, they were very wary of him.

You could even say they were afraid.

However, there were two others who looked at Fang Lin with friendliness. Like Huang Yao, they were also well connected with the North Town Hall and had been instructed by their respective hall masters to support each other in the Ancient Alchemy Prohibited Area.

“What happened?” asked Fang Lin, but he had already noticed a stele standing not far away.

“We’ve discovered this ancient stele. According to the information we’ve received, unlocking the secret within these inscriptions will open an ancient, sealed drug field,” Huang Yao immediately responded, pointing to the desolate stele not far off.

Upon hearing this, Fang Lin focused his gaze. The stele had only a few lines of text, but it also featured a very odd drawing.

“Fang Lin, let me introduce two people to you,” Huang Yao said and introduced those two Hall Master Descendants to Fang Lin.

Both of them looked young, and possibly because they came from Alchemy Tao families, they carried a bit of arrogance, but they were quite friendly to Fang Lin, seemingly aware of Fang Lin’s prowess and daring not to put on airs in front of him.

If others were polite to him, Fang Lin naturally returned the courtesy. After exchanging bows and greetings, he learned that the two were named Sun Zhenghai and Qin Yu, indeed from Alchemy Tao families.

“I am Zhenxi Hall Yang Songchi and would like to get to know Brother Fang,” a youth in a purple robe stepped forward and exchanged names with Fang Lin with a bow.

Knowing that this person came from the Western Guarding Palace, Fang Lin understood that this fellow must be a descendant of Lu Feng, certainly instructed by Lu Feng to mutually support each other in the Ancient Alchemy Prohibited Area.

“So, you are Brother Yang, I’ve heard much about you,” Fang Lin said with a smile.

Yang Songchi looked deeply at Fang Lin, harboring some doubts in his heart, not understanding why Hall Master Lu Feng wanted him to forge a good relationship with this Fang Lin, especially to assist Fang Lin in the Ancient Alchemy Prohibited Area.

As for the others, Fang Lin didn’t pay them much attention and proceeded towards the stele.

“Hmm? What do you mean by this?” Fang Lin asked the dozen or so people blocking his path, with a smile that was not quite a smile.

“Fang Lin, this stele was discovered by us together, it’s not yours alone. We would prefer that you do not get involved and would like you to leave,” the lead Hall Master Descendant said.

All of these people, without a single exception, held hostility towards Fang Lin, because his strength was too formidable, posing a threat to them. If the mystery of the stele were to be unlocked and everyone entered the ancient drug field, Fang Lin, with his strength, would reap the most benefits, leaving less for the others.

They did not want to see such a situation develop, after all, people are selfish; everyone wants to get more, and Fang Lin was their biggest competitor.

As long as Fang Lin isn’t allowed to join in, the competition among these people for the ancient medicinal field would seem a lot fairer.

“Ling Zhongru, what do you mean by this? Isn’t Fang Lin a Hall Master Descendant? He, too, has the right to explore the mysteries of the stele with us,” Huang Yao immediately said.

Upon hearing this, Fang Lin looked toward the leading person and understood right away—it turned out that this fellow was from the Ling Family, no wonder his face looked somewhat familiar; he was indeed a brother from the same clan as Ling Zhongtian.

The three Talents of the Ling Family: Ling Zhongru, Ling Zhongri, and Ling Zhongtian—each one of them radiant, were the most outstanding trio of the younger generation in the Ling Family.

Ling Zhongru looked coldly at Fang Lin and said, “This man has stolen dozens of Hall Descendants’ Nine Palace Bags, he is a villain, and we should all join forces to resist him.”

“That’s right, Fang Lin absolutely cannot act together with us.”

“His presence would threaten our safety.”

“Only by excluding him can we ensure that all of us will reap rewards.”

The other Hall Descendant Descendants also spoke out one after another, all standing with Ling Zhongru, wanting to ostracize Fang Lin by the strength of the group.

“Fang Lin, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave on your own,” said Ling Zhongru, a hint of triumph in his eyes. With so many Hall Master Descendants on his side, he believed he could force Fang Lin to back down.

“Ling Zhongru, you’re going too far. Fang Lin is here at my invitation, and he won’t leave,” Huang Yao said angrily.

Sun Zhenghai, Qin Yu, and that Yang Songchi all stood with Fang Lin, confronting the others.

“If you few want to stand with Fang Lin, then leave together. Associating with a villain is truly disgraceful,” Ling Zhongru said, a mocking curl in his lips.

Huang Yao and the others were all furious. Ling Zhongri actually wanted to drive them all away and then monopolize the ancient medicinal field for himself.

Ling Zhongru played his cards well; he knew that opposing Fang Lin would be unwise because of Fang Lin’s overwhelming strength.

But now Ling Zhongru had gathered other Hall Descendant Descendants, and united, they were a very formidable force.

Ling Zhongru believed that unless Fang Lin was mad, he definitely wouldn’t dare to oppose them, more than a dozen people.

Even though Fang Lin had previously snatched the Nine Palace Bags from a dozen Hall Descendant Descendants, that was by defeating them one by one; now that these dozen or so people had come together, it was impossible for Fang Lin to lay hands on them.

As long as they could force Fang Lin to leave, by eliminating the biggest threat, the yields within the ancient medicinal field would be theirs to claim, no need to worry about someone contesting for them.

Fang Lin looked disdainfully at these people, especially at Ling Zhongru, shaking his head slightly, his eyes full of scorn.

“You’re very naive to think that you can make me back down like this,” said Fang Lin with a laugh, the mockery clear for all to see.

Ling Zhongru’s eyes were dark, “If you had any sense, you would step back voluntarily, or we will not be courteous to you.”

Huang Yao glared furiously at Ling Zhongru and his people, while Sun Zhenghai, Qin Yu, and that Yang Songchi all looked apprehensive; after all, Ling Zhongru had many on his side, making them indeed a force to be reckoned with.
