Inside a modern-style bedroom was a woman, sitting cross-legged on the bed.

A crimson aura was swaying around her body as she seemed to be in a deep meditation.

Soon enough, her eyelids twitched as the crimson aura surrounding her began to waver and dissipate into nothingness. Her eyes opened slowly, revealing a sharp pair of deep red irises glistening with energy—as swirling black patterns danced inside them like dark currents in a blood-red sea.

Her gaze fixed ahead as she seemed to be in a profound contemplation.

Finding what was in her mind problematic, she sighed deeply.

Despite the tension in her body was still strong, she laid back on the bed.

Concern could be seen etched onto her features, the weight of a brewing storm casting dark shadows, over her expression. "How did it end up like this?" She whispered—inwardly. "I also began to not believe that the Angel race would do something like this..."

After the visit to her mother, Calidora was now back in her room with even thoughts.

Instead of explaining to her, Nezera decided to tell her a story.

Nezera told her the story of Archangel Celestius—and six other Archangels that were sent to protect one of the Blodirra Family's important cities. Despite knowing—that the city would be attacked by a famous Awakened, the Blue Dragonfire General, they obeyed.

Even though they had the choice to decline, none of them declined and came to help.

And even when the city fell, Archangel Celestius, the only surviving Archangels stayed.

It was not mandatory, when the city fell he had already failed and could leave.

But instead, Archangel Celestius decided to go down with the city.

He gave his escape route to Nezera and Solomon and fought alongside the remaining Angels to buy more time so that the others, could escape. A valiant and selfless act, which made the fact that Nezera couldn't believe what Calidora said, understandable.

Knowing that story, even Calidora began to question the report about the Angels.

"Just like me, Mother ended up with the conclusion that the Angels might be coming here for Rex—as they considered him a threat to world peace. Killing the Fifthborn—showed that Rex is a strong enough force to rule the world," She muttered again.

Out of anything, the Angels' attention pulled here was definitely because of the great war.

No doubt about it, that assumption could be treated as a fact.

However, the problem is that what the Angels are going to do once they arrive is unknown.

It would be bad if they began attacking the nearest force.

Feeling thirsty from all the thinking, she grabbed a glass of blood on the side and drank it.

"Hmm... I should tell the other Supernatural Kingdoms about this. None of them, are aware of the Angel's approach, and it would be great if the Demons confronted them first" She mused, deciding that she would do that. ᚱÂŊố𐌱Ё§

As Calidora was about to get out of bed, she stopped and touched her nose.

Blood was trickling down from her nose.

"I only talked with Mother for a couple of hours using my Blood Clone. I could easily sustain it for days if I want to, but I'm already bleeding after a couple of hours?" She mused wryly—not a fan of her condition at all. "I shouldn't do this alone, but I don't want to ask for help..."

Just then, Calidora's eyes slightly widen in a sudden realization, "If Rex is the target,"

"Then doesn't that mean I'm the most alluring capture? I'm sure the Angels could find out the fact that I'm pregnant easily," She gritted her teeth—annoyed by this more than anything. "I'll ask Adhara or the captains for help"

Deciding on what to do, although it hurt her pride, she left the room in a hurry.

...

Meanwhile, somewhere in the middle of the sea with no land visible around at all.

Hundreds of celestial warriors—Angels of formidable might soared through the sky in a fixed formation. Each of them drew the power from the sun, but turned the golden blessing into an ashy black energy before using them.

Behind them was a trail of blackness, a stark contrast to the depiction of brilliant Angels.

Some of the Angels bore shattered armor.

Once-glorious gleaming black was now marred by cracks and dents.

A huge portion of these Angels carried wounds—that would incapacitate, other lesser beings but the Angels—continued their flight undeterred. It was all because they were aided. Among them, a few Angels shone with an ethereal, ashy aura.

Compared to the hundreds of Angels, there were only a dozen of them that glowed like this.

Each one of them exuded strings of energy that connected them with the others.

It was the source of aid that allowed the other Anges to push forward despite their wounds.

Just like the lineup of other races, there were born healers amongst them.

All of these healers were stationed tactfully in the midst of the formation—and the ashy aura they emanated was rejuvenating, mending the broken wings and sealing grievous wounds. It pulsed with a rhythm of life and renewal, keeping this legion of Angel moving.

Clearly, this legion of Angels had just come out from a fierce battle.

A battle that was won barely thanks to a reinforcement.

"Move it, avians!" Calignar instructed, his voice deep and authoritative. "We should be ahead of schedule. The sooner we finish our task, the better. It would pave the way for our race, all of you will be remembered as the Heroes of the New Heaven"

Upon hearing this, the other Angels flapped their wings harder out of excitement.

Being remembered as heroes is the greatest honor they could achieve.

Seeing that the other Angels were flying faster after his small pep talk—Calignar nodded and refocused back ahead. As the wind grazed his entire body—from how fast he was flying right now, Calignar squinted.

His keen eyes scanned the horizon, ever watchful for signs of danger.

Considering that they were ambushed from above earlier, he became even more cautious.

Now, the number of Angels under him was way less because of that.

From three hundred to a little bit over a hundred if not less right now, and that's not good.

Getting hit by another ambush would mark the failure of their crossing.

As he soared onward—a glimmer of refracted light caught his attention—drawing his gaze to his front with a furrowed brow. It was hard to see it but there seemed to be something ahead that was translucent.

Just then, without a warning, a surge of electrocuting energy coursed through his being.

He passed through a translucent barrier that camouflaged the backdrop of the blue sky.

It could be seen from afar only because of the elusive refraction.

Calignar was stunned, as his body tensed—paralyzed by the unexpected shock—but he kept his wings flapping to keep him afloat. He wanted to turn his head, and warn the others of this translucent wall, but his body was spasming and couldn't turn fast enough.

In the wake of his passing, the other Angels, trailing behind him, met a similar fate.

Blitz!

Blitz!

One by one—their graceful yet powerful flights were abruptly halted, as they passed through the translucent wall too—their bodies seized by the same paralyzing force, that had befallen, their leader, Calignar.

However, unlike Calignar, most of the other Angels couldn't keep themselves flying.

Many of them plummeted with a thunderous crash.

As if falling from the Heaven, their once majestic flight was now reduced to a messy descent toward the churning depths of the sea blow. Splashes of towering water soared with each of the Angel's crashes.

Gritting his teeth, Calignar began to infuse his body with ashy holy energy.

He tries to overpower the energy that is shocking his insides.

Crash!

In a fierce infusion of energy, from his half-crimson halo—the energy that was ransacking his insides was overpowered, freeing him from the paralyzing sensation. Not wasting any time—Calignar dived down into the sea.

"Break the energy and help me save the others!" He shouted at the other Angels.

From the hundreds of Angels, there were only a couple dozen that could keep flying.

Other than them, the other Angels were drowning inside the sea's depths.

Splash!

After Calignar went into the sea, only several bubbles could be seen on the sea's surface.

Desperately fighting against the energy—there were several Angels, who managed to break free, from the paralyzing sensation too—and dove down to save their comrades. Only those who are in the ninth-rank realm could keep flying after passing that translucent wall.

Unlike the others who broke free, one young Angel remained still even after breaking free.

He is a male Angel who radiates a subdued aura, his countenance marked by timidity.

Short strands of ash-colored hair framed his face, adding to his unassuming demeanor—and a dark line traced downward on each of his weary eyes—lending his visage a perpetual state of distress or sadness.

In his hand, he clutched a crimson staff that had one side pointy sharp.

As opposed to going down to help, he turned and went over to the translucent wall.

For a moment there, he inspected the translucent wall carefully.

His golden-colored halo glowed as he channeled his holy energy to his index fingertip before he tried to touch the translucent wall, and true enough, the translucent wall, reacted by firing the same electrocuting energy.

Despite the power of this electrocuting energy, this Angel didn't seem to be bothered.

He only focuses on observing the translucent wall.

Just then—however, Calignar and the others came out of the water alongside the paralyzed Angels, that couldn't deal with the electrocuting energy. Upon coming out, Calignar saw the young Angel still above.

"How did you not get paralyzed, Stelios?" Calignar asked in confusion.

Upon saying this, he realized that the young Angel, Stelios seemed to still be paralyzed.

Realizing this, Calignar used his holy energy and helped him break free.

Crash!

Only when the invasive energy was dispersed, that Stelios could breathe easily, "I was at the very back, and I saw the others being paralyzed. I have enough time to protect myself before passing that weird wall,"

Calignar nodded his head in understanding.

Now it made sense why the weakest Angel in this group, Stelios, could still remain flying.

Unlike the others, he was not caught off guard by the translucent wall.

Averting his attention away, from Stelios—Calignar heads over to the translucent wall, while the others try to help the paralyzed Angels to regain their mobility. Just like Stelios earlier—Calignar inspected the wall in confusion.

He used his holy energy to feel the energy once more, and recognized some of its content.

"Aether Venom, but where did the energy come from?" Calignar uttered inwardly.

Looking down—his eyes glowed golden before he quickly dived into the sea once again and stood on the seabed. Despite the darkness of the sea, his light, shone the surroundings and scares the mutated fishes away.

It was only then that he saw an energy responding back to him, covered in sand.

Pushing away the sand, he saw a glowing formation hidden underneath.

'An angelic formation...? An Angel did this? No, that can't be, there's no Angel in the place we are heading to. Maybe the Demons? I heard Elder Tilrith was here. She must be the one, who created this somehow' Calignar pondered in contemplation.

Upon stomping on the formation, breaking it, Calignar flew out of the water again.

"An angelic formation created this barrier, so a Demon is responsible for this..." Calignar said to one of his trusted Angels, Ensis. The Demons must be the ones as only they could steal a recipe to make this formation from them.

Ensis nodded his head, he trusted Calignar's judgment.

But then, out of nowhere, Stelios intervened, "I think it's not a Demon, but an Angel..."

"Hmm...?" Calignar raised an eyebrow—surprised to find that Stelios somehow dared to voice out his opinion. "You know nothing about this, kid. All of the rebellion was captured already—no Angels wanted to obstruct our way"

"Ahh..." Stelios scratched the back of his head timidly. "I guess I'm a fool to say that"

Calignar scoffed in pride before he went to the paralyzed others—helping them so that they could resume their journey once again. 'I said that to Stelios but if this was the Demons then why don't they make it more lethal than this? This seemed like a trap to slow us down'
