It was a false alarm.
Kyran thought that the Werewolves would be useful captives, but they were not.
Instead of being captives, Jarvald and Vivian seemed to be allies of Rex from the near past.
Even though both of them, didn't seem to be lying about that—considering that both of them claimed to help Rex connect with the Witch of Chaos, which was a big claim, he still needs to make sure they are legit by taking them to Rex himself.
He would at least give them that chance.
Rex has always been the man of his word from the very start.
So if he promised them safety and assurance, Kyran would make sure not to betray that.
As he finished the task of punishing the associated Dark Elves, Kyran, would need to head to the city since there should be a lot of safety precautions—that the city is going through. One was the fact that the food supply might be running low.
He could go on a hunting spree in the Humming Damned Forest.
Normal civilians would only be able to eat a tiny portion of a high-ran mutated animal's meat.Consuming more would cause them to have food poisoning—from the overflowing amount of residual energy within the meat, so Kyran could technically hunt some eighth-rank animals to feed the entire city.
Some hard days would come in the near future for the city, and it was inevitable.
Leaving the watchtower, Kyran decided to head back to his temporary abode.
"I'll probably train here for a few days," He mused as he strode ahead with Jarvald and Vivian following right behind, while being watched by some Dark Elves around. "I don't want to train in the castle, at least for a moment. It's really choking there..."
Recalling the thick air inside the castle, Kyran could only smile wryly and shook his head.
Evelyn and Rex's relationship condition permeated throughout the castle.
It's very hard to breathe easily with both of them being like this.
"One Werewolf also managed to get into our territory, so double the scouts and guards. Keep alert, and always report to us if you catch more Werewolves," Kyran instructed the guard that brought him here with a stern tone.
Upon hearing this, the guard bowed as he let Kyran be on his way.
Glancing over his shoulders, Kyran asked, "Does any of you know something about this?"
"Know something...?" Jarvald asked back in confusion.

In response—Kyran only nudged his chin towards the guard from earlier, signaling to Jarvald that he was talking about the abundance of Werewolf scouts. "No, both of us came from the Human territory. We managed to escape and slowly made our way here. We know nothing,"
A moment later, Kyran reached the front of the great tree of the Dark Elves.
He was about to step inside but was suddenly stopped by a Dark Elf.
Stealing a slight glance at the Dark Elf, Kyran found that he didn't recognize her.
She is a Dark Elf, whom he has never seen before, however, judging from her well-maintained appearance—and attire she seemed to be a noble. Her fetching amber eyes—and light armor donned her lithe frame were enough to tell that she was not a normal Dark Elf.
Closing in from the side, Kyran turned towards her and tilted his head in question.
Out of respect, the Dark Elf pulled down her hair to reveal her thick, voluminous locks hair.
Now, her face was clear to see, radiating an air of a fighter.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Kyran asked, deciding to be direct with the Dark Elf.
Upon hearing this, the Dark Elf made an elegant bow that of a noble before she replied, "My name is Slythia. I must apologize but due to the circumstances—a proper introduction could be done at a later date. I am here merely to report to you that a Tigerman envoy has made a visit to meet you"
Kyran raised his eyebrow, "Tigerman? Sir Daniel is there, report to him,"
Sir Daniel Burton was a representative of the Clarentium Empire stationed there.
He was not there only for show, but also for diplomatic reasons.
If the Tigerman, their King, or their Elders wanted to say something, it could be through him.
"It concerns an invasion," She said, her tone tinged with urgency. "though I am not privy to all the particulars, the envoy conveyed that their capital was under siege by a foreign force. The news that you are here reaches them—so they surmise that Lord Kyran, as the Emperor's left hand, could hear them"
Despite feeling displeased by this, Kyran changed his mind instantly.
He didn't expect there to be an invasion.
Considering the choice of words, this invasion must be coming from an unknown faction.
For all Kyran knows, this must be the work of the high-rank Supernaturals.
"Bring these two to Naela and keep watch on them until I come back, I will go meet with the envoy myself," Kyran finally said. "Is that too much for me to ask for your standing? Should I ask a guard?"
Upon hearing this, Sylthia shook her head, "No. I am nothing in front of you, Lord Kyran"
...
Meanwhile, several days ago in the Tigerman Kingdom.
Just like the rest of the world, the Tigerman was also dealing with the circumstances that the world had chosen one-sidedly—for them. Even though their casualties were lower than some of the races who had it worst, they were not particularly in a good spot either.
The capital city of the Tigerman experienced a vicious tectonic shift.
Almost half of their capital city had its ground elevated very high, about 200 hundred meters.
It caused the capital city to be divided into the higher and lower sections.
Under the sudden shift, a lot of Tigermen were sent to the lower section as the outer area of the lower section had a change in terrain too. Aside from the appearance of mountains—and hills because of the tectonic shift, many caves also appeared.
Some of the caves were filled with underground mutated animals.
Now that they had ways to reach the surface, they began pouring out like a swarm of ants.
Drakar was the one, who was sent to lead the small armies to deal with the invasive mutated animals by the Elders. He has been doing it for days, and with the strategy he devised, many mutated animals were lured and sealed into the caves again.
Considering his patriotic mind, he was glad that he was chosen for this.
Instead of taking the brawn approach, he decided to be smart about this and use lures.
Out of the three dangerous caves, he sealed two already without any difficulties.
Knowing the harsh reality of the Second Breath, it's best to preserve their numbers for when they need it. Currently—Drakar was sitting in a tent, preparing himself to eat a slab of animal meat that was already roasted and fragrant.
He had spent a lot of his time strategizing, so this was a relaxing moment for him.
But the relaxing moment was abruptly interrupted by a piece of thought.
"Ravenor!" He called before another Tigerman, draped in heavy armor stepped into the tent. "If the black and blue legion are finished with preparing the kill spot, tell them to distract the spiders while the other legions deal with the bats first"
Upon hearing this, Ravenor nodded, "I will tell them to do that when they get back,"
"Hmm...?" Drakar's burrow furrowed. "Both legions hadn't come back yet?"
As Ravenor was about to step out, he stopped and looked back again, "No, none of them had come back yet. Since the terrain changed, they must've gotten lost a bit. We already scouted the area and briefed them, but they still do this... you should not hold back with them"
Instead of entertaining Ravenor's words, Drakar took his colossal greatsword.
Not even wasting any time, he stepped out with a stern expression.
Ravenor catches up to him and asks, "Are you suspecting something happened to them?"
"Both of them like to play around but they never play around in a situation like this. I told both to come back as soon as possible so if they aren't here yet something must have happened," Drakar replied with a worried tone, he was going to try and find them himself.
Seeing that Drakar was determined, Ravenor was also going to help.
Just then, however, the two saw an army poking out of the corner of the hill beside them.
It was the Blue Legion, and there didn't seem to be anything wrong.
Upon seeing this, Drakar went towards the leader with a clear annoyance in his face. He was thinking that something must've happened to them—but there does not seem to be anything wrong, so he needs to reprimand them.
"Varkon, I told you to come back fast," Drakar barked, his voice sharp. "This is too late,"
Realizing that Drakar was angry, Varkon quickly explained himself.
"It was not that I didn't head back instantly after I was done but we lost four of our members and was searching for them," He said, this was not done intentionally. "We were doing as we usually did, but one of my men reported that four were missing"
Ravenor squinted his eyes, "Missing? How in the world can that happen?"
"If anything, they probably got ambushed by the moles," He added with a barbed tone.
Just like Ravenor, Darkar also didn't believe that four strong members of the legion could go missing like that. Clearly—Varkon had been careless in managing his forces, likely losing his men to the moles.
For both of them, it was the most logical explanation.
'Karnyx of the Red Legion also reported days ago that his men went missing...' Drakar mused.
Even though it was a bit weird, this situation that is, he decided that it was still hazy.
He couldn't make any assumptions from this.
However, Varkon insisted that he hadn't been careless, he was doing the opposite instead.
Knowing the danger of the Second Breath, he made sure to keep his focus up.
Because of that, he was awfully confused as to how four of them could slip from his radar.
As they were arguing about the matter, the other legion, the Black Legion also came.
Leading this legion was the stern Fenris, and without even entering the encampment, he was hesitant, but decided to go meet with Drakar. A guilty countenance, adorned his face. After a brief pause, he reported, "I apologize for my lateness, Drakar. I lost two of my men—and was trying to find them but I couldn't"
Upon hearing this, Drakar, Ravenor, and Varkon exchanged a knowing look.
It was as if there was a bell ringing inside their minds that happened at the exact same time.
All of them now suspected that something more was happening here.
Now Varkon's explanation became the source of suspicion instead, something happened that went past both Varkon's and Fenris' radars. If these missing Tigermen were dead as opposed to being missing, it's fine as casualties happen.
For both legions to experience the same situation was a point of suspect.
Seems like what Varkon said was not a lie, he did not lose his men out of carelessness.
"Varkon, Fenris, both of you stay behind and guard the encampment," Drakar commanded.
Not even asking why, the two nodded before Drakar turned to Ravenor, "You come with me, we're going to search the surroundings. It's too much of a coincidence now that three of our legions reported missing people"
Meanwhile, somewhere near the encampment.
Right beside a waterfall, there were a couple of figures in armor littered behind a tree.
All of them were Tigermen, and they seemed to be dead.
But upon closer inspection, they were not dead but cleanly knocked out instead.
On the other side near the edge of the water, two figures could be seen.
One was a Tigerman, held by the neck, utterly helpless against the other's unyielding grip.
Covered in a hood—the other figure clenched the Tigerman's neck harder before he asked, his voice rasping—and demanding, "Let me ask you one more time, who killed the Executor and where is his corpse? Answer my question, or you'll die like the others"
"Even if you ask me a hundred times," the Tigerman replied, through a choked throat. "It will be the same answer over and over again. Over my dead body! Nothing could make me open my mouth about it!"
Upon hearing this, the figure was silent before in the next second, he made a move.
He overflowed the Tigerman with his pale ash energy and knocked him out.
Brak!
Letting the Tigerman go, the figure clicked his tongue in displeasure, "Who are they loyal to?"
"Is the Tigerman King, the one who killed the Executor? No—that should not be the case" He rubbed his throbbing forehead in annoyance before gazing at the other Tigermen to his side. "Just who could make all of the Tigermen I took, silent about his identity? Who could make all of them this loyal?"
