Luna stopped in front of the entrance, scanning everyone with her silent, silver eyes. The Daughters all gave each other awkward glances, while Melina lowered her head and looked away shyly, unable to face her elder sister.

Luna’s gaze rested on her finally, but she didn’t say anything. She only continued walking further and stood beside Faeryn by the side of the wall.

Silence still reigned for a moment. A very loud silence that one would hear a pin drop.

Nyx leaned her head to her twin sister and whispered, “Awkward.”

Then, Faeryn stepped forward, standing in the center and studying the Daughters one after the other. When she finished, she parted her lips to begin;

“As you remember, Aeric and Luna engaged in a Duel yesterday. And it is because of the results of that Duel that she is joining us today,” she explained. “Luna is honoring the contract and is joining us in the clearing of the Beast Glade.”

Nyx let out a nonchalant sigh. “Oh, my mother is going to kill me if she finds out I was doing something like this. But Aeric has me wrapped around his finger now as he has the rest of yours.”

She smiled devilishly at everyone, ever the stirrer of drama that she was. “Isn’t that right?”

Faeryn’s eyes moved slowly to face her. “What are you talking about, Nyx?”

“Oh, come on! It’s there for everyone to see.” Nyx shrugged playfully. “Celestia is so lovestriken that she would do anything for him.”

Celestia’s eyes widened and she quickly lowered her face. Melina glanced at her thoughtfully.

“Melina is suddenly so obsessed with him that she got herself banished from her castle and went to his even though he was the cause of it all.”

Melina’s brows instantly raised and once she noticed Luna staring at her, she also shamefully looked away.

“Phoebe’s never had a supportive role model, and now she’s met him, she does everything he says because he was a fatherly figure to her inside the Mock Dungeon.”

Phoebe turned red. “That’s not true.”

“Luna’s obsession with him led her to a shameful defeat and now she’s bound by a Divine Contract to do this.”

Luna’s glare intensified on Twilight Daughter.

“And you, Faeryn,” Nyx smirked. “You’re doing this under the guise that you’re indebted to him for helping Phoebe. But I think it’s more than that.”

She folded her arms, watching Faeryn glare at her coldly. “You admire him, don’t you? In fact, I can go as far as to say you even like him.”

Faeryn’s lips pressed to a very thin line.

“I mean look at us!” Nyx outstretched his hand. “We’re like his very own harem.”

“You would only dream of being in my harem if I was ever to make one.”

Everyone suddenly froze, only thing moving were their heads and eyes to the direction of the entrance where Aeric was now standing, dressed in his imperial Head Boy clothing with a red-haired female warrior by his side.

Celestia’s eyes glistened and her chest grew heavy. “Aeric,” she whispered.

“Everyone this is Delva,” Aeric spoke with a down-to-business voice. “She’s my special advisor and friend, so if she tells you that I said something, even though you haven’t heard it leave my lips, then I said it. Delva this is everyone.”

The Daughters who hadn’t been introduced to the Starlight warrior, looked at her with slight intrigue.

“You’re from the Selvadez family, aren’t you?” Faeryn asked.

“Yes,” Delva replied. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Daughter Faeryn.”

“The Selvadezes are known for being extremely formidable in combat, and for their potions and experiments that have sometimes been reflagged by the Divine Court.”

Faeryn and Delva exchanged slitted gazes. Short tension.

“But… this only means you’ll be invaluable to the battle. It’s good that you’re a part of this.”

Delva then nodded.

“Alright, listen up!” Aeric’s voice reverberated as he stepped into the center of the room. Luna watched him with no expression on her face, while Nyx had a cunning smile on hers.

“The battle is on the second day of the weekend. We will all gather at the Starlight Bridge and march to Mursbridge, time is as early as the dawn.”

He looked around, taking note of all their expressions. “I understand that you feel like this isn’t your problem. It’s the Starlight Region’s, and that is true. So…”

His gaze then stopped at Celestia who had her head down. “If you feel like you want to leave, and you don’t want to help me, or my Region stop these Wave Beasts, then you can. I will not hold a grudge, it is not my place to.”

Celestia lifted her head up that instant and they both kicked in a gaze, like she knew that he was referring to her. She had chosen to help fight with him because they were together then, because they were close.

Now they were apart, was it really worth the risk.

They stared at each other for such a long time that even Melina began to look at the both of them.

But in the end, no one left. Aeric gave Celestia a soft, thank you nod and turned to the rest of the girls. “No one?” he asked. “You’ve all decided to stay?”

Nyx chuckled. “You had me when you mentioned beast slaying all those days ago.”

Nyssa added. “And my sister and I basically do everything together, so I’m not exactly doing this for you, Head Boy.”

Aeric shrugged. “That’s fine.”

Faeryn stepped forward. “What you’re doing for your Region is commendable, and it would be an honor to join you in the fight. I will still owe you a debt as this is just me making sure those beasts do not spread from your Region and reach the Elysium.”

Phoebe joined in. “My sister is right. If we don’t stop those beasts, they will only grow and infiltrate other Regions. Especially after the Wave War when we’re all weakened from the battle.”

Melina lifted her head and smiled at Aeric. “I agree. We’re all going to follow your lead in this.”

Aeric’s eyes stopped at Celestia, who slowly stood straight from the wall she’d been resting on and nodded shyly. “I’m happy to join you and save your Region’s town, Aeric.”

And then finally, all eyes turned to the cold and icy Luna of Moonlight, who was resting with arms folded in the corner of the room, watching all of them.

Aeric narrowed his eyes at her, and hers narrowed at him.

Silence.

Then she sighed, and stood straight. “I will join you to fight, Aeric of Starlight.”

The Daughters all smiled, walking closer to him.

Aeric’s face showed his determination. “Then this is what we’re going to do.”
