Chapter 2909  The Final Clue

"We found traces of Forfex at the North Pole. We think he might still be on the planet," said the undead that Abby had just questioned, startling Minos and the two women beside him.

The three looked at the creature behind their undead communication, their eyes opening as their lips parted. Slowly, their smiles appeared as each of the three grabbed items from their supplies.

"Let's go. Segiel, you stay here to alert Ruth and Gloria. You should join us when you all are ready," Minos said to the level 118 woman, disappointing her a little.

But this mission to find Forfex didn't promise high-level combat or great results right away. Waiting for the two women still in meditation wouldn't change much. Without question, Segiel nodded to him and Abby. "Good luck to you. I hope he's still around."

"Me too," Abby said as she touched one of Minos' shoulders, while the undead did the same, touching his other shoulder.

Minos looked at his two companions and motioned for them to get ready. Then the surrounding space shook and a spatial rift opened under the influence of his direct powers.

Minos wouldn't use something as powerful as Devdar's pendant to travel around the same world. He simply broke through the stable space of this world and headed directly north, as his messenger had indicated.

...

It took only five minutes for Minos' group to reach the point where his spatial manipulation was supposed to take them.

When they appeared in a completely different place than the city in the middle of the forest and waterfall where his other wives were, Minos looked around and identified the direction of the North Pole.

"The undead who reported the previous information are 100 kilometers north of here, master," The creature said, feeling the connection to those responsible for the previous message grow much stronger.

Minos spread his wings and grabbed Abby's waist with one hand, flying quickly in the direction showed while the undead followed behind.

A hundred kilometers was nothing to Minos. In a few moments, he had crossed the entire distance between them and the group of undead, who were now working their way around a mountainous area. There, many stones covered a large area that seemed to have been an ancient mining site, with unnatural cuts in large rocks and several traces of old buildings that had once stood there.

In a place with many stones of different sizes, probably a covered hole, the group of undead was exploring the area.

Minos and Abby landed not far from the undead and made their way to a dark hole that led underground.

"Masters," several of these beings said as they looked in the direction of the two.

"What have you found? Your leader said there were recent signs of Forfex here." Minos got right to the point.

One of the dust-covered undead, holding a large stone, replied, "Yes, we found footprints, but also a spiritual trail. We've confirmed that these tracks belong to a member of the same race as Senior Forfex, but they're also recent, not more than a month old."

The creature pointed toward the dark crater they had been opening for the past few minutes. "The tracks lead underground to this area."

Abby asked, "Why haven't you gone through space to check the underground of this area?"

"We can't. Something, perhaps a formation, is preventing the spatial manipulation abilities from penetrating the area... That's another reason to believe that Senior Forfex might still be here."

Minos looked at Abby while the woman with the long blue hair considered the possibilities.

"If that's the case, he must have already spotted us," she suggested.

"Maybe not." Minos shook his head. "It's possible he's in meditation or has left. We'll have to explore the area to confirm the situation."

"What do you have in mind?" Abby asked, watching her husband's eyes light up in a special way.

"I won't be able to manipulate the space in this area without using Devdar's pendant... But it will destroy whatever Forfex did down there." Minos sighed as he saw that there was only one way to go.

He rolled up his sleeves and jumped into the crater where the undead were working. "We'll have to dig this place out by hand until we reach the entrance to the underground cavern. Then we'll have our answers."

Abby didn't hesitate and joined Minos and their minions to finish excavating the area. Unfortunately, there were no corpses nearby to bring back to life, so she could only use her hands for this manual labor.

An hour later, Ruth, Gloria, and Segiel would join them, along with some undead, but also locals from this world who were helping them since their arrival.

But the newcomers wouldn't have to use their hands that day. Shortly before the last of them reached the area, Minos, and Abby saw the subterranean passageway unobstructed by the rocks placed over the entrance. There they came upon a well-made underground structure with a large, round iron door in front of it.

On the round door was a series of security mechanisms, with space for a special code to be entered.

Minos stepped forward with a flake of light in his hands, while his four wives followed behind him, their hearts beating in unison with their racing minds.

Suddenly, Minos relaxed, a smile appeared on his face. He stopped next to the door and typed in a code that hardly anyone else would know.

After he typed the last key, the sound of moving mechanisms echoed through the dark underground area, and the round door opened as dust spread through the air.

Minos and his wives pushed the dust away as they focused their eyes on what lay behind the thick iron door opening.

From inside the area protected by the iron door, they saw a glowing being in the same shape as the soul fragment they had encountered earlier on the planet Forfex.

Minos looked into the eyes of his old companion with a mixture of joy and curiosity, but also haste.

"Forfex!" he said as he entered this area of the cave, ignoring the formations, which deactivated one by one according to the code he had entered.

As he entered there, he realized this still wasn't the one he was looking for.

Forfex's figure became transparent as he looked back at Minos, showing this was not yet the real version of him.

Before disappearing, this soul fragment said, "Hurry. I'm in trouble in Eiwei. Hurry or I won't be able to give you what I found!"
