Who Would Fall in Love After Being Reborn?

Chapter 8: Finally Attached to a Wealthy Woman

TL: Etude

Elder Tang, after returning from his journey to obtain scriptures, became famous throughout the north and south of the river. Later, introduced by someone, he met a 49-year-old wealthy female demon. It seemed to be his destined tribulation, one he could not escape.

Afterwards, Elder Tang did not choose to continue spreading Buddhism. He resolutely got married and became a son-in-law living with his wife’s family.

Now, he owns a whole street in the capital city, forming a stark contrast with the former Elder Tang, who in his sixties still performs and sings for a living.

What is a magnificent transformation?

This is a magnificent transformation!

But how can one achieve such a transformation? The author lists several conditions in the book, with the most important being appearance.

In plain terms, you need to be good-looking to have a chance of a beautiful beginning with a wealthy woman. This is like a stepping stone; without it, don’t bother thinking about what comes next.

Additionally, you need a strong body, capable of enduring the joys of a wealthy woman, resembling the endurance and energy-locking capacity of a Nanfu energy ring (Chinese battery company), more powerful than six ordinary ones!

Of course, the book only covers the first part, with the rest being Jiang Qin’s own analysis.

Jiang Qin was deeply engrossed in the book. He accidentally stretched his leg too far and kicked the smooth, fair leg of the girl sitting opposite him.

Realizing his impolite action, Jiang Qin immediately looked up at the girl, only to find her silently withdrawing her leg as if nothing had happened, not even moving the book in front of her.

“Sorry, I was too absorbed in the book. It wasn’t intentional.”

“It’s okay.”

The girl in front of him didn’t move the book or look at him, responding faintly and without emotion.

Jiang Qin didn’t mind and returned his gaze to the book. Twenty minutes later, he finished “The Magnificent Transformation of the Third Generation Monk Tang” and gained a basic understanding of the foundational tricks to attach oneself to a wealthy woman.

But where to find such a wealthy woman?

He had just searched the entire bookshelf without finding the legendary “National Wealthy Women Contact Information.”

Without encountering a wealthy woman, wouldn’t all these tricks be a waste?

Feeling somewhat disappointed, Jiang Qin closed the book and stood up to leave.

Just then, Feng Nanshu suddenly moved the book from in front of her and looked at him with clear eyes, then took a stand from the right side of the desk and placed it in front of him.

[Please return borrowed books to their original place before leaving]

Jiang Qin glanced over the sign, shrugged his shoulders slightly, and left quietly.

Watching his retreating figure, Feng Nanshu’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and a hint of sadness flashed in her eyes.

But she didn’t speak, just silently put down her book and lightly moved to the other side of the table. She carefully collected the books Jiang Qin had left open, planning to return them to their places.

As Feng Nanshu was tidying up the last book, footsteps sounded behind her, and Jiang Qin’s voice followed.

“I wasn’t planning to leave; just thirsty and going to buy a bottle of water.”

“And, I’m really sorry for accidentally kicking you. Please accept this drink as an apology.”

Jiang Qin opened a bottle of Cool Kid Juice and pushed it towards Feng Nanshu.

This drink was very popular back in the day, even surpassing Sprite, but for some reason, it fell out of favor.

But Feng Nanshu didn’t reach for it, remaining frozen in place, silent and unmoving.

Finally, she clenched her fists, lowered her head, and returned to her side, lifting her book high to cover her delicate face.

Jiang Qin found it quite baffling.

I didn’t behave inappropriately, did I?

What I did was quite gentlemanly.

So why does this aloof beauty seem so nervous?

But he didn’t think much of it, assuming it was just her cold nature, and sat back down to continue with the next book.

Three minutes later, Jiang Qin caught a glimpse of a fair, slender hand stealthily extending from behind “The Magic Eyed Girl,” grabbing the bottle of Cool Kid Juice, and then quietly retracting.

Over the following days, Jiang Qin found time to visit the library, where he would invariably encounter Feng Nanshu.

The two sat at the same table, facing each other in a tacit agreement, engrossed in their own books without speaking.

However, Jiang Qin never came empty-handed. Sometimes, he brought snacks like teddy bear biscuits, pepper salt crispbread, and shrimp chips, dividing them into two portions and pushing one towards Feng Nanshu.

After a couple of times, Feng Nanshu also started bringing snacks like macarons, truffle chocolates, and Jenny cookies, placing them closer to Jiang Qin’s side.

Though the two barely interacted verbally, this exchange of snacks created a silent rapport.

During this period, Jiang Qin finished reading “The Wealthy Woman’s File” and “Gentleman’s Details.” Feng Nanshu, on the other hand, completed “The Blue Dog Era” and “Magical Zoo.”

On June 13th, the sixth day of the summer vacation, Jiang Qin closed the last book about wealthy women. Resting his chin on his hands, his gaze deepened contemplatively.

“Within books, you find golden houses; within books, you find beauties as fair as jade.”

He had looked it up online; this phrase was not by Lu Xun but by Zhao Heng, the third emperor of the Song Dynasty, originally from the “Exhortation to Study.”

But Jiang Qin felt this was only half-true.

Indeed, books contained beauties like Feng Nanshu sitting across from him, a sight for sore eyes.

However, there were no golden houses in the books. At least he hadn’t found any.

Jiang Qin’s gaze involuntarily drifted to Feng Nanshu, who was nibbling on shrimp chips like a hamster.

She no longer used a book to completely shield her face, but the aloofness in her eyes remained, with almost no desire to communicate verbally.

Wait a minute…

A black limousine with wings? Being driven to and from school by a private chauffeur, accompanied by security guards?

Macarons, Jenny cookies, truffle chocolates…

Jiang Qin’s eyes widened as he realized something obvious. He had been wondering how to encounter a wealthy woman, yet overlooked that the one sitting in front of him was precisely that!

Meanwhile, Feng Nanshu suddenly noticed Jiang Qin’s gaze and stiffened. She slowly put the shrimp chip she had picked up back into the packet.

“You didn’t say you can’t eat it, go ahead.”

“Oh.”

Feng Nanshu picked up the shrimp chip again, biting into it, but found Jiang Qin still staring at her, her eyes gradually filling with confusion.

“Feng, could I borrow some money from you?” Jiang Qin coughed, trying to appear as sincere as possible.

Feng Nanshu blinked in bewilderment, then silently took down her black leather bag from the chair, pulled out a pink metal-clasp wallet, and slapped it onto the table.

Jiang Qin was taken aback, thinking that this was undoubtedly the behavior of a wealthy woman, but he needed more than just a few hundred.

“I’d like to borrow more.”

“How much?”

Jiang Qin initially wanted to state a specific amount but hesitated, fearing that asking for too much would trouble her, while too little wouldn’t suffice. “Well, how about you lend me whatever you can? I’ll pay you back soon, I promise not to run off with the money.”

Feng Nanshu pondered for a moment and then nodded obediently: “Okay, I’ll bring it tomorrow.”

“…”

Jiang Qin was again taken aback by her simplicity. When had borrowing money become so easy? Was he still in the same world as before?
