Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2742 - 2742: Easier Way

Whisker explained everything he had been up to during the time when Alex had been training.

As Alex listened, he was surprised multiple times at how he had come across so many new things he had learned or managed to discover. The most important of that was the fact that one could find plenty of Elixir underneath the desert.

As he listened to Whisker, he looked at the few pill bottles in hand that were filled. Collectively, they were about as much as the jar that was sold to them. However, Alex could tell this Elixir was much thicker than the other one.

It had to be much more potent.

“You’ve been doing this for the past 3 years?” Alex asked with a stunned expression. From what he had heard, Whisker made the same amount of Elixir in a month as what Alex had bought last time.

That had been after 3 whole years of killing beasts without stop.

This was frankly incredible to think about.

Alex waited for a moment, considering what he should do with those few bottles. “You should eat it, Whisker. You were the one who made it.”

“I’ve consumed a lot of it by now,” Whisker said. “It doesn’t help me anymore.”

Alex raised an eyebrow. “How much have you eaten?” he asked, followed by a second question. “How strong are you now?”

“I don’t know how much I’ve consumed, but I’ve grown a lot stronger in the past 3 years. My Body Cultivation should be around the start of the Immortal Spirit realm,” Whisker said.

Alex paused for a long moment as he took in what Whisker said. “Immortal Spirit realm… that’s about as strong as my blood aura.”

And that had required Death to kill tens of thousands of beasts in a large vicinity for him to achieve that. The fact that Whisker of all, who had no head start in body cultivation to begin with, had managed to reach so far ahead in just a few years gave Alex a lot of shock and a lot of hope.

With Whisker’s help, he could perhaps improve his Body Cultivation by a lot.

“I want to see everything by myself,” Alex said. “Let’s go get some of this sludge thing you’re talking about. I want to make some Elixir myself.”

“Oh, I have some sludge,” Whisker said. “I didn’t have the time to use all of what I had gotten before I had to come back, so I still have a cauldron full of it to go through.”

“Great,” Alex said. “Bring it out. Let’s get through it right now.”

Whisker nodded. “Let’s go to the river.”

Alex paused. “Why the river?”

“We need water to wash out all the Elixir in the sludge and then evaporate the water to only keep behind the Elixir,” Whisker said.

“Okay…” Alex said. “I can just create water.”

“We’re in Hell, brother. Water won’t stick around,” Whisker explained. “Hell breaks it down into Qi again and destroys it since it’s not naturally forming.”

“I see,” Alex said, slowly nodding. “That must destroy the Elixir then, right?”

Whisker cocked his head to the side. “What does?”

“The water, when it breaks down,” Alex said.

Whisker shook his head. “I don’t know.”

Alex frowned. “Have you not tested whether Elixir is destroyed or not when the water is taken away?” he asked.

Whisker paused for a long moment. “I… never thought about it,” he said, continuing to think. As seconds passed, he quickly realized his mistake.

He had been so hung up on the fact that his Qi didn’t work in Hell, that he had failed to realize that he could have used this disadvantage as a tool to further improve his speed at collecting Elixir.

“Bring out the sludge,” Alex said. “Maybe I am wrong. Let’s test the theory first.”

Whisker brought out the three cauldrons he had, one which was full of sludge and the other two that were completely empty.

Alex checked on the sludge, a mass of wet dirt that looked less like mud and more like tar. The water and solids looked completely homogenized with each other in the mixture, leading to it looking very different than what it should be.

Alex stuck his finger into the sludge and licked it. He let the dirt remain on his tongue for a second before he spit it back out. “That’s Elixir alright,” he said. “No wonder it has such an earthy flavor. It comes from underground.”

He took a bit of the sludge and poured it into one of the empty cauldrons. He created water using his Qi and filled the cauldron to the brim. He mixed the water and sludge together, until the result was a muddy water with dirt particles floating everywhere.

At that point, Alex was a little stumped. Whisker was ready with the cloth to separate the water from the dirt, but Alex worried that would affect the Elixir. Besides, there had to be a better way for it than that.

An idea came to him, so he placed his palm around the cauldron, concentrating. He used his Qi to calm the water until nothing swiveled around within the cauldron.

Then, he used his Dao of Gravity.

He applied the Dao just within the cauldron at the mixture and not on the cauldron itself. With amplified gravity, the apparent weight of the liquid was now many times heavier than what it had been previously, but the cauldron Whisker had been using was far too great to be strained by just weight.

The weight, however, helped separate the liquid. Immediately, the heavier particles in the mixture sank to the bottom. What would have taken an hour to form sediments at the bottom of the cauldron took no more than 2 minutes under Alex’s intense gravity.

The water became visibly clear before their eyes and after more than 3 minutes, there was almost nothing floating within the liquid at all.

Alex quickly cut off a layer of water at the bottom and pulled it out of the cauldron and placed it into the third and last empty cauldron.

Then, he simply took 2 steps back.
