Chen Xun bid farewell to the Bai Li Clan and the Nine Heavens Demon-Suppressing Apes, with soldiers and spirit beasts alike lining up to see him off.
Today, the sky was dark and brooding, with thick clouds pressing low, heavy with the promise of a storm. Thunder rumbled, lightning sliced through the black sky, and rain began pouring down, cleansing the oppressive tension from the Ten Thousand Mountains.
From a distance, Meng Sheng gazed at Chen Xun’s departing figure, his eyes filled with admiration.
Chen Xun and his companions walked calmly forward, unperturbed by the rain and wind, looking as though they were just taking a stroll.
As they reached the edge of the mountains, the roar of a massive thunderclap echoed as warships ascended into the dark sky, flags streaming as if they could pierce the heavens.
Roars erupted from the depths of the mountains, and massive figures emerged, stepping through the air as if defying the stormy skies.
Thunder crashed from the heavy clouds, as massive bolts of lightning rolled out like dragons across the sky—a storm was brewing.
Chen Xun narrowed his eyes, gazing at the grand display, as rain poured over him. Behind him, one warship after another lifted off, undeterred by the storm, filling the sky.
With a hum, each warship left a solemn trail across the heavens, sweeping overhead. The air was filled with a sense of foreboding.
Today, all across the 360 provinces of Da Li, Nascent Soul cultivators raised their heads, faces shifting as they looked to the heavens. In ancient strongholds, powerful cultivators stirred, their resonant voices rippling across the land. With one hand behind their backs, they cast their gazes skyward.
The Five Great Immortal Sects, the Three Ancient Cultivator Clans, and the Two Holy Palaces—each power was readying itself, hidden forces on the move!
All over Da Li, common cultivators looked on in awe. Was something monumental about to happen?!
Across the ancient grounds, steeped in the weight of centuries, voices spoke in low tones.
“The Bai Li Clan has returned. The Nine Heavens Demon-Suppressing Apes have joined them!”
“There might be a massive shift in the War Realm. Preparations should be made.”
“Heh, if that day truly comes, I couldn’t be happier.”
…
The War Realm Camp was ready to launch a grand assault. Let us prepare, fellow cultivators, and forge a path ahead for our Domain!
The Bai Li Clan had completely emerged from the Ten Thousand Mountains, summoning allies from all sides. Leaders across the great sects looked on in shock, overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the news.
This left the major powers scrambling. They weren’t exactly prepared, but hesitation wasn’t an option. Within moments, they had begun mobilizing, putting their plans into motion.
The Bai Li Clan was not one to make empty threats. Their reputation was deeply ingrained across the realm, known and trusted.
Leaders also understood the stakes—if they delayed any longer, the corrupted beings would likely be ready for them. If they failed to act now, the next generation could face a bleak future.
The Bai Li Clan wouldn’t stir the pot unless they were ready. They must have found… the path forward!
The Nine Heavens Patriarch, too, was calling on ancient spirit beasts from all corners of the world. “The path to the War Realm is opening. You can cower here no longer. When the Gate opens, come if you dare!”
All across Da Li, ancient beasts and old monsters emerged from their seclusion, each radiating an intimidating aura. This was the moment they’d been waiting for!
Many of these figures had once been legends in Da Li—a generation of geniuses denied their path, but they would not quietly fade away. If they were to die, it would be on the path they chose.
“The Bai Li Clan, we await the signal from the Four Immortal Mountains beyond the seas.”
“Haha! The day is finally here. I have waited long enough—I refuse to simply wither away!”
“Bai Li Lingjin, thank you!”
The voices rang out with strength and excitement, a feeling they hadn’t experienced in ages.
These masters, beyond worldly gains, now sought one thing—the Dao itself! Just a glimpse of their long-desired goal before death!
But among the Five Great Immortal Sects and Three Ancient Clans, silence held. Without the resources of the ancient past, their power had dwindled, leaving them bereft of top-tier cultivators. ṙä𐌽𝐨ΒĚṩ
Although most refrained from the War Realm, the proud younger generation among them had no intention of sitting this one out. No mere corrupted beings would stand in the way of their indomitable Dao heart!
Their elders, however, wrestled with old traditions. Bound by ancient teachings, they found it hard to break free from their rigidity.
Still, a decision was made—to bend the rules, just this once…
<hr>Meanwhile, Da Li’s 360 provinces roared with excitement and confusion, though Chen Xun and his party had already left it behind.
A colossal ship was gliding over a sea of lightning, dazzling light scattering in every direction, thunder rolling below as they sailed toward the Heaven’s End Plains.
Brother Ox sat calmly within the pavilion, cultivating. His presence was so powerful that the thunderous clouds below him seemed to quiet, barely able to rumble in his presence.
Xiao Chi was ecstatic, stationed at the front of the ship, ready to get back to the Heaven’s End Plains. Finally, he was headed home!
Chen Xun smiled as his mastery over the world’s energy grew stronger. He could scatter the thunderclouds with a flick of his hand if he chose, but there was no need.
After all, why interfere with the natural order of things? That would be a bit rude, wouldn’t it?
“Xiao Chi, we’ll set up a teleportation array at the Heaven’s End Plains. That way, we can return whenever we need to.”
“No problem, Brother Xun! There’s no place safer than the Heaven’s End Plains!”
Xiao Chi trembled with excitement, his fur practically buzzing with anticipation. “I’ve got a ton of treasures stashed there—absolute valuables, every one of them!”
Chen Xun raised an eyebrow, reaching out to grab him. “So you were hiding things from me all this time, huh, Xiao Chi?”
“Ahaha, Brother Xun, you know me! I was just thinking of a backup plan in case things went south. If we ever had to hide out, we’d have a nest egg, right?”
Dangling in the air, Xiao Chi flashed a sheepish grin, trying to act as innocent as possible. “When we left, I barely had time to grab anything…”
“So that’s how it is! Can’t say I’m not impressed. You’re learning, carrying on the spirit of me and Old Ox from our younger days.”
Chen Xun burst into laughter, letting Xiao Chi sit on his back. “We’ll swing by the Heaven’s End Ravine on our way back. Those Extinguishing Spirit Stones are everywhere—an endless supply.”
“No problem, Brother Xun, leave it to me!” Xiao Chi puffed up with pride. “I’ve got strength to spare. Who knows? When we reach the Grand World, they might come in handy.”
“Heh, no longer afraid, are you?”
“Afraid? Nah, Brother Xun! After all we’ve been through, I haven’t even come close to a real life-or-death struggle.”
Xiao Chi, lying on Chen Xun’s back, reminisced with a wistful look in his eyes. “All I care about is not causing you guys any trouble.”
“Don’t worry about it. Once we reach the Grand World, we’ll settle down, earn some spirit stones, and enjoy life. The cultivation resources there are endless.”
Chen Xun’s steady tone filled the air, radiating a calm confidence. “Da Li is just a backwater compared to that place. Who knows how vast the cultivation world will be there.”
Xiao Chi took a sharp breath, staring in awe, completely enraptured by the vision Chen Xun was painting.
Chen Xun glanced over at Old Ox, still deep in cultivation, and smiled. Whatever dangers lay ahead, with Old Ox by his side, they’d always have a way out.
