Chapter 2151 – The Little Star Soul Art
Li Changqing’s seal was a type of secret soul art that could sense a target’s aura and see through their disguises.
Su Yi couldn’t have been any more familiar with it. It was called the Little Star Soul Art, and Yi Daoxuan had invented it exclusively for his descendants!
A long time ago, Yi Daoxuan married and had children. He had a throng of descendants, and as time passed, they formed a clan.
The Little Star Soul Art was one of the secret techniques that Yi Daoxuan had left to his descendants. It was used to identify the bloodlines of other clansmen, as well as to see through disguises and render transformation techniques useless.
Su Yi had already fused with Yi Daoxuan’s Dao Imprint. He naturally recognized it. How could he not?
Even if this Li Changqing guy isn’t one of my fourth incarnation’s descendants, he’s got to have an inextricably close relationship with the Yi Family, thought Su Yi.
He was starting to understand why Yi Daoxuan had sent him to the Billowing Blue Realm of all places. This was almost certainly a safe place he’d prepared for his descendants!
Almost eight hundred thousand years have passed since Yi Daoxuan entered the cycle of reincarnation. I wouldn’t have guessed that someone who reincarnated long before Li Fuyou would still have living descendants!
Su Yi was inwardly rueful. It really is hard to imagine.
Li Changqing finished shortly after.
“Did you find anything, elder?” asked Village Headman Xue Tianyun.
“He really is human, and he really is severely injured. His vitality has all but run dry, and he’s clinging to life by a thread. It’s… a miracle that he’s still alive,” said Li Changqing.
Xue Tianyun finally relaxed. “Alright, so long as he’s human.”
“He might be human, but his origins are suspicious. We have to investigate first! What if he’s an informant for the yao and demons?” Xue Feng couldn’t help but object.
He’d been viscerally opposed to Su Yi this entire time, and he felt a powerful enmity toward him.
“If yao and demons wanted to hurt Grassy Creek Village, why would they send an informant already on the verge of death?” snapped A’Ling.
“Uh…” Xue Feng was instantly at a loss for words.
“Enough! It’s already late. We should leave,” said Li Changqing. He waved the others away, then said, “A’Ling, come with me. I have something to say to you.”
The whole group left the room, leaving Su Yi lying there alone.
He wasn’t at all worried about his situation. Were he truly in peril, he could have used the last of his awareness to summon the Divine Replenishment Furnace, and in turn, the little monkey inside it.
It was just that if he did, he’d fall unconscious again, and he had no idea when he’d wake up, so he wouldn’t do it unless it was life or death.
Before long, A’Ling returned with a jade box and a gleeful smile. “The elder has agreed to let you stay in the village while you recover, and he gave you this pill.”
She opened the box, revealing a thumb-sized, crystalline, translucent pill.
When she saw it, she gasped. “A Kuilong Soulblood Pill! The elder’s actually given you such precious immortal medicine!?”
The young woman was stunned and obviously caught off guard.
Su Yi had lost his cultivation base, but his eyes were as keen as ever. He recognized the pill for medicine of the Profound Dao at a glance.
Prior to achieving immortality, the path of cultivation was divided into the Martial Dao, Origin Dao, Spirit Dao, Profound Dao, Path of Heaven’s Ascension, and the Path of Transcendence.
Each level was in turn divided into sublevels.
After becoming an Immortal, there were the Four Realms of the Immortal Dao and the Three Stages of the Great Realm.
Medicine of the Profound Dao was crafted by Emperors of the Profound Dao.
The young woman might have seen the pill as a precious treasure, but to Su Yi… it was truly useless. It wouldn’t do anything for his wounds whatsoever.
However, Su Yi understood A’Ling’s surprise. She was, after all, in the Spirit Dao herself, specifically the late-stage Spiritual Revolution Realm. She’d yet to reach the Profound Dao…
She was a considerable distance, three full paths, away from becoming an immortal, let alone a god.
Thus, the Kuilong Soulblood Pill was naturally incomparably precious to her.
Su Yi noticed earlier that the village headman and elder had the highest cultivation bases of anyone in the village, but they were still just Emperors of the Profound Dao. Both were in the Profound Unity Stage.
In the Human Realm’s Dark and Gold Star Realm, Profound Unity Realm experts were the cream of the crop. That was the level Su Xuanjun had been at when he reigned over the Nine Provinces of the Wilds.
But by Su Yi’s current standards… those beneath the Master God level weren’t even worth looking at, let alone those yet to become immortals.
“I’m sure the elder has his reasons.” After a while, A’Ling took a deep breath, took out the pill, and prepared to give it to Su Yi.
“Don’t,” said Su Yi.
A’Ling froze, then snapped, “You don’t seriously think we’re trying to hurt you? This is a precious medicine the elder has saved for years. Don’t… don’t fail to recognize others’ kindness!”
Su Yi grimaced, then continued, “It won’t do any good. My wounds are too heavy. It’d be a waste…”
He had no energy. Even speaking was difficult.
But A’Ling seemed to understand. Her frown relaxed, and her expression filled with tenderness. “Ah, so you’re worried about wasting it. Don’t worry! This medicine is supposed to be used to save people, and you’re so badly injured. If we don’t treat you, I’m afraid you won’t last long…”
Then, before Su Yi could refuse again, she stuffed the pill into his mouth.
A warm current coursed through his entire body, but it vanished in a flash, like a clay ox melting into the ocean. It achieved nothing at all.
Well, not quite. It raised Su Yi’s spirits a little…
A’Ling was gobsmacked. She murmured, “How is this possible? It really didn’t do anything…”
Su Yi opened his mouth and said feebly, “Don’t worry. I can…. Treat my wounds on my own…”
But when she saw that he was struggling to even speak, A’Ling sighed, and her eyes filled with pity. She tucked Su Yi in and said gently, “Don’t talk, okay? Just lie still and recover. I’ll find a way to help you.”
Su Yi gazed intently at her, feeling a rare warmth in his heart for the first time in a long time.
On that day, Su Yi took up residence in Grassy Creek Village. The villagers all knew that he was here, and at first, all of them were curious.
However, they gradually lost interest. Su Yi couldn’t even move. He just lay there in his sickbed as if he were on the verge of death.
Su Yi, however, rather enjoyed the tranquility.
Time slipped by. One day passed after another.
In the Billowing Blue Realm, the Three Golden Crow Suns illuminated the world by day, and the Demon Flame Purple Moon shone at night.
Grassy Creek Village was at the base of the Demon Crow Mountains, an extremely remote area. Outsiders seldom visited.
The young A’Ling’s days were quite busy.
Once every three days, she and the other village youths left before the sun rose to hunt and gather medicine in the mountains.
She spent the rest of her time preparing the medicines and beast carcasses, tanning the hides and sorting the teeth, bones, scales, horns, and other parts.
She said that once every several months, merchants from the city would visit to buy their goods. She could sell these parts then.
Aside from her various chores and tasks, the young woman visited Su Yi every evening to wash his entire body and cover him in medicinal herbs.
Despite Su Yi repeatedly protesting that such medicines would do him no good, the young woman stubbornly insisted.
There was nothing Su Yi could do, but even though he found it frustrating, he was grateful, too. He could tell that she was sincere about helping him.
Soon, a month had passed.
Su Yi lay in the courtyard, sunbathing in a crude wheelchair, his eyes narrowed in contentment.
A’Ling had built the wheelchair for him. She’d placed him into the wheelchair and pushed him out of the room, too.
There was nothing for it. A month had passed, and although he felt a bit better, he still had no strength. He was effectively a cripple.
The Three Golden Crow Suns shone overhead, one to the east, one to the west, and one in the center of the sky.
The three blazing suns are similarly manifestations of the Billowing Blue Realm’s Laws. Unfortunately, in my current state, all I can do is lie here and passively absorb a little supreme Yang energy. Su Yi sighed to himself. At this rate, who knows how long it will take for me to recover…
He’d spent the past month pondering how best to recover. In the end, the only idea he came up with was…
Sunbathing.
Nothing else would do any good.
His body, soul, and cultivation base had completely dried up. He could in no way sit down to cultivate and absorb the ambient power of the Grand Dao.
But there’s no need to hurry, thought Su Yi.
He couldn’t cultivate, and he couldn’t treat his wounds, but he hadn’t given up. He was gathering the power of those blazing suns!
Although he could only gather a minute amount of energy, gradual accumulations built up over time. Sooner or later, he’d be able to recover some of his cultivation base!
Even the barest thread of it would be enough!
“This is bad! Big Sister Ling’er’s hurt!”
Suddenly, a startled cry resounded throughout Grassy Creek Village. A clamor of voices followed as the alerted villagers rushed over to see what had happened.
“What happened to A’Ling to hurt her this badly?”
“Quick! Bring her to the elder! She can’t afford to wait!”
Su Yi’s brow furrowed. He could hear the commotion, but he couldn’t sense anything happening outside the courtyard.
Still, it wasn’t hard to guess what had happened. A’Ling had left with her bone spear at dawn to go hunting in the Demon Crow Mountains. Something must have happened to her while she was out!
He just had no way of knowing how bad her wounds were, and he couldn’t help but worry.
Over the past month, she’d meticulously looked after him. Of course he cared about her. How could he not?
But he couldn’t stand, let alone walk or go outside and ask about the situation. All he could do was sit there and wait.
Time slipped by. Su Yi just sat there, watching as the three sons overhead gradually set and night fell in.
His brow remained tightly furrowed the entire time. There had been no further commotion, but it was easy to guess that A’Ling was in very bad shape.
Bang!!
Someone suddenly kicked open the courtyard door.
The tall, stalwart Xue Feng charged over in fury.
When he saw Su Yi just lying there sunbathing, Xue Feng’s eyes reddened, and he gnashed his teeth and roared, “This is all your fault, you bastard! A’Ling almost died because of you. I’m going to fucking kill you!”
With that, Xue Feng ruthlessly swung his fist at Su Yi’s head.
