Now that things have reached this stage, he couldn’t help but think that something was wrong with Levi. He couldn’t but help begin to suspect that Levi was hiding something.
Where Levi lives is not that important. It is just one of the things the family does to keep track of the lamp bearers.
The information won’t be used for anything nefarious until the family is ready to deal with the lamp bearers. But Levi is already making that difficult for them.
He wasn’t ready to give up, though. He grinned and thought to himself, “There has to be someone who knows where he lives in this town. There has to be someone who knows where he lives in the division. It is either the captain, the custodian, or other lamp bearers.”
He knows how the lamp bearers operate, so he knows that when Levi became a godclad, he would be placed under close supervision for a while. One or more lamp bearers from the division must have gone with him to his house to watch over him for a while.
There’s also no way the custodian and captain haven’t investigated Levi thoroughly before they allowed him to become a godclad and lamp bearer. So someone in the division must know where Levi lives. All he needs to do is pry that information from them.
With his mind made up, the taste of the cookies became better in his mouth. He smacked his lips and drank some tea.
The light from the lamps hung around the house shone on his face and reflected the sharp glint in his eyes. His wife saw this and couldn’t help but shiver.
The days went by. Then it became ten days after Legion started their shift.
During these ten days, Legion had been happy and frustrated in equal proportions. They were very happy because of the peace and quiet that they enjoyed.
They were able to use that peace to train their divine abilities and grow their spirit. Growing stronger brought them a lot of joy.
But there were other things that made him unhappy, which were based mainly on the people following them. This started on the sixth day of their shift. They had six days of peace before their peace and tranquility were broken by rats.
They noticed that they were being followed very quickly through their Mental Probe ability. The situation would have gone badly if the people following him were godclads.
The people following him were normal humans, so he didn’t feel any threat from them. He didn’t need to use the mark of bondage to force them to spill the reasons for following them.
They were also lamp bearers. So there is nothing they should fear from humans. With this confidence, they apprehended the person following them and tortured him until he confessed that the Ivory family wanted him to find Levi’s house.
This was the first day of being followed. Legion was already frustrated by then. They wanted to put an end to being followed, but they couldn’t use violence because of their identity as lamp bearers, and they couldn’t do anything eye-catching even if they removed the shackles of their identity because that would draw too much attention to them from the Ivory family.
Currently, only humans were following them. They didn’t want godclads to begin following them, so they had to handle the situation carefully.
They also didn’t want to be followed, so they went to the captain to report the situation. There was a slight hiccup in that plan because the captain wasn’t in the base. But the hiccup was overcome through the Blood Network.
He used the Blood Network to tell the captain about how he was being followed and what he should do about it. She said that he should capture anyone following him and hand them over to the city guards to be jailed if they are normal humans.
If they are godclads, he should identify them and report them back to her. She promised to take action against them.
He didn’t like the passive reaction solutions that she offered him, but he had to admit that it was quieter and less violent than what he had in mind. So he did as she told him.
By the third day of being followed, he had locked up more than ten people in the city jail. Some of the clones liked doing it, but more of them hated being followed, as that prevented them from going to their five fingers and using them to rob.
It was on the fourth day of being followed when Shawn came to him asking to be invited to his house. The answer to the request was clear as day.
They didn’t know why the Ivory family wanted to know where he was living, but they weren’t going to let them have their way.
But apparently, their rejection wasn’t enough to deter Shawn from trying to know where they live. Shawn tried and failed to follow them to their house. This was the tenth day since they began working at the prison and five days since they began to be followed.
During these ten days, they have made a lot of progress in their growth. They have grown both in terms of raw spiritual power and the mastery of their various divine abilities.
