Chapter 2246: Unexpected Reunion

"Hmmph." Although Jin knew that Yun was merely a super enhanced NPC, that did not mean Yun did not have her original soul (despite pieces of it) within her. Jin figured that Yun was saying all of this, and doing all of this was ultimately for her son's sake.

She might not have lived long enough to sire the child from young to what -how Jin had become right now, but that did not mean she did not attempt or even try to do so. The realisation hit further as Jin rejected her when the System was still an asshole (maybe still is), but she continued to work hard for his store.

Whether it was because she had been programmed by the System to do so or it was her own willingness, actions spoke louder than words for she toiled for the store regardless of the reason. In fact, during his time alone in Atopia, his thoughts eventually wandered about Yun just not the extent that it would cause him to have sleepless nights.

However, he also understands that this was not at all her fault, to begin with since the System took her, probably thinking that it could be used as a bargaining chip when it was against Grandpa Ming or as usual 'for Research Purposes'.

Thus, when Yun tried to distance herself once more from Jin, he decided not to play along with this stupid game anymore. Instead, he grabbed Yun by her hand and told her not to move. A quick chop at her neck rendered her chi to be blocked momentarily and also forced his mother to go unconscious.

"Do not interfere with what I am about to do," Jin said to the System and instructed it to not allow anyone in especially Kraft who might spoil everything. "If he wants to see from afar, then let him be," Jin added before dragging Yun by the armpits and putting her in an upright position on the floor before he started to trace her chi circuits.

The System had created Yun to the best of its abilities meaning, she was as original as could get other than the fact that she is eternally young and can't age because of the System. After analysing her chi circuits, he then poured his Maqi into her, slowly removing any blockages that she could possibly have because the System as much as it could replicate everything, would still skimp on certain things.

But that was the minor part, the main issue is that he needed to flood her with as much of his Maqi before he started casting a spell with his remaining portion of Maqi that enabled them to fall in a trance where it felt like they were going for a deep sleep.

That was when the System realised that Jin was attempting to connect his subconscious with Yun's subconscious where the System could not even invade not because it was incapable of doing so but rather, decided not to. For it had roughly figured what Jin was going to do.

And thus the both of them fell into a state of equilibrium upon reaching the deep sleep phase, Yun found herself in an empty land, void of colours. The only thing that she could see was just a table with two inbuilt benches. Upon closer inspection, she could see that this was not any ordinary bench but one that even her soul recognised. It felt like it was etched deep within her body despite the fact that this was a constructed doll by the System.

"The marks on the edge of the table…" She remembered how she would try to bite the table because her pet dog would do the same when she was younger while at the other end was her father reading the newspaper during the weekends.

"Yun…?" A familiar voice echoed behind her and Yun could not believe her eyes.

Even though he looked way older than expected, the sunken dimples that Yun had always remembered was still there. He might have wrinkles but he still retained that warm look whenever, he called her name.

"Dad…" Yun said as she was hesitant to take the first step as she was still processing what was happening right in front of her.

"Yun." Now her Dad's reply was firm and this acknowledgment proceeded with Grandpa Ming to walk a step forth, seizing the initiative to be closer to her. Yun was confused whether this was her memories playing in the background or she was hallucinating to the point that she could not differentiate the truth.

However, one thing was certain.

The embrace of her father was still the same. Gentle, comfy and reassuring. That was when she decided to put her guard down and returned the gesture to him. "I…"

"Yun…I thought I would never see you again. Never have I thought that I could even have a glimpse much less a metaphysical reunion!"

"Dad! You and your gibberish terms again!" Yun said as she pushed him away this time and beat his chest as if she was still a young little kid, missing the family interaction that she once had. Perhaps the bench when she reminisced had triggered such emotions. "I am sorry. I am so so sorry for leaving you behind." The sentence was accompanied with tears of regret.

"I did not know who that assassin was. Both of us tried to fight against it but we were no match for it… he was on a level that could not-"

"Hush now my dear little daughter. Hush. Everything have come to a pass." His gentle strokes through her hair could not calm her down but in fact, aggravated her cries, allowing her to release all that pent up emotions that she could not express. Although it felt like a haze initially since her inception into Jin's life, those memories eventually came back to her as she used her System Points to buy them back from the System.

The both stood there quietly until Yun managed to keep her tears under control as Ming offered her to seat at the bench. "So this is…?" Yun questioned the location of where they at by looking around the blank grey area and Ming told her the short summary which shocked her to the core.
