Although Aquarina acted brave and all, her friends weren’t actually too sure she would’ve won against the whole village if they went against her for her insolence.

“Hey guys, they let us in without problems!” she celebrated, yet her friends… well.

“Y-Yaay!” Silvia clapped, although smiling rather nervously. “F-Finally… Um, you better not fight them okay? It would’ve been very rude… I think.”

“Man, I thought a fight was going to break out for real…” said Justicio, almost trembling. “Aquarina! Please, just please don’t test your luck like that again! They’re super strong and also a dozen! Do you seriously think you could win?! There’s someone there that’s Tier 9, a bunch of Tier 8s too! I know you’re Tier 8 yourself and plenty strong, you even said you could beat Tier 10 monsters but I kind of not believe you…”

“Nah, I’d win,” Aquarina said confidently, crossing her arms as she glanced at the Oasis. “But it’s nice they knew their place… Heh. Anyways, we should get going.”

“Seriously this girl…” sighed Silvia, facepalming. Even she was acting a bit more grounded than Aquarina at this moment.

“Well, whatever… I mean she’s really strong… Wait, I wonder… Now I kind of want to see where the fight would go,” said Justicio, thinking about it.

Aquarina was acting as if her intimidation worked, when it was just the people’s devotion towards her and her title that made them easily allow her and her friends to go to the Oasis anyways.

As they talked, two people walked towards them to greet them and act more cordially towards them. Aquarina quickly fell silent, glancing at them, thinking that they might perhaps want a fight at the end.

However…

“My name is Coralina, I am the chief of this village, I apologize for not introducing myself properly, hero,” a very tall, slender woman stepped in, her dark brown skin, white tattoos, blue eyes and long clear blue hair was very distinct. “And this is my daughter, Agua. She will be the one to guide you to the Oasis. You see, there’s quite the dense forest towards there, and some monsters that inhabit the area aren’t the friendliest out there.”

The chief of the village, the strongest person but also the one with the gentlest, most serene smile presented her daughter, which was very similar to her, with the slender and lanky build, eyes, and long hair.

“It is nice to meet you, heroine of waters,” the girl named Agua said, she seemed to be smiling calmly, always remaining serene like her mother. “Please let me guide you to the Oasis! It’s the least we could do for the heroine herself. And her friends… I’m also honored to be able to talk with you directly. If you have any questions please feel free to ask away.”

“O-Oh…” Aquarina muttered, looking visibly disappointed. “Wait, you don’t want to fight me?”

“Of course not, young hero,” said the chief. “If possible, we never try to fight people for nonsense. It is against our tribe’s rules. We are pacifists and we’ve sworn to only fight for the protection of our home and the oasis. We once more apologize… we must have overreacted and scared you, but we never meant any harm. If anything, it worries me that the hero of water thinks so much with her fists. I believe you could earn a thing or two from our meditation techniques.”

“Meditation techniques?” Aquarina raised an eyebrow. “I don’t need that… Why would I ever…?”

“They’re unique in that they not only can help your mind find inner peace and become more confident,” said the chief. “But your Water and Ice Elemental Powers would grow as your mind reaches stability and enlightenment through this meditation.”

“Can it help me cultivate my body or magic circle?” Aquarina wondered-

“Of course, it is part of the Meditation Techniques Effects,” said the chief. “Usually, how do the people of Everstone cultivate?”

“Well, they make us fall off a cliff,” said Justicio.

“Sometimes they let hundreds of boulders crush us to almost death and we have to dig out our way from it!” said Silvia.

“Hmm, there’s this method where we need to run around the village while carrying two gigantic pillars,” said Aquarina. “It’s really arduous at first but you get used to it.”

“W-What?!” the chief gasped. “This is… very terrible, I’m so sorry. Such a crazy level of training… why would anybody ever do such a thing to their children?”

“The people of Everstone are just built different I suppose” said Silvia, crossing her arms.

“Well, it wasn’t half bad once we got through the worst part,” said Justicio. “Now we’re free from those as we’ve achieved the minimum standards of strength, that’s how it usually goes.”

“M-Mother, what’s wrong with their village?” Agua wondered, looking a bit afraid of Silvia and Justicio now.

“Nothing… they’re just the old families, with their archaic customs and their barbaric training methods,” sighed the chief. “Well, my offer remains the same, dear hero and her friends. Agua here is a good guide, and it could even become a valuable friend. She has always dreamed of visiting the world outside one of these days.”

“T-That’s right, I am also quite good at Healing Magic, Protection Magic, and Enhancement Magic,” said Agua. “So I can help in anything you need.”

Agua smiled gently, despite how tall and a bit lanky she was, she was a cute girl nonetheless, the white dress she wore and the semi-transparent white robes above her head made her look extremely beautiful too, accompanied with her jewelry made of spirit crystals, shells, and corals, it was as if she was a princess of the oasis herself.

“Well, I mean… Sure! We would need a guide anyways, right guys?” Aquarina asked.

“We’ve been there before but it was long ago, so her help would be appreciated,” nodded Silvia.

“Yeah please, thank you,” Justicio nodded.

“Very well then. Mother, I will be going,” said Agua, grabbing her wooden staff.

“Alright dear,” her mother nodded, kissing her forehead. “Take care of them until they reach their destination.”

“I shall!”

Agua quickly joined Aquarina’s party, an unexpected new temporary ally.
