After suffering through a terrible nightmare, Aquarina woke up screaming and even crying. Things felt way too real for her, and it scared not only her own Spirits but even her parents, that came running to her side to comfort her after they heard her scream, thinking something had happened to her.

Shade, her father, was the first to hug her, he was a father that liked to pamper and spoil his daughter quite a lot, while his mother seemed a bit suspicious if Aquarina was just pretending or something, although ultimately she realized she was being genuine, and quickly ran to hug her as well.

What she saw and what she went through in this nightmare all felt too real for Aquarina, and also incredibly frustrating. The worst part was that her memories from the dream were almost imprinted into her mind, it was rather hard to even forget what she saw.

It was rare, because Aquarina usually forget what she dreams every night, whenever she wakes up, it feels like she didn’t really dream. It is very rarely that she remembers her dreams, although they’re often about wet dreams with Sylphy, hunting, or spending happy times with her family or friends.

It wasn’t as if she had never had nightmares, she used to have them sometimes, of her parents dying or where she was being chased by a monster, especially when she was much younger, weaker, and as a result, helpless.

But nothing quite like this, so real, so palpable, she could even feel the heat of the burning city, smell the blood from her wounds, hear the roars of the beasts, and see with clear detail how Sylphy was killed in front of her eyes, by this group of malicious beings.

After she told her parents what she saw in detail, her parents concluded that she had seen a prophetic dream, an ability that sometimes heroes develop, and that Sylphy had developed on her own, although she never told to anybody except Aquarina, who she trusted the most about these things.

Sylphy certainly has an ability to see these dreams, and she can see many visions and prophetic dreams even while being awake if certain actions or interactions trigger them, this is due to her special Blessing and her Heavenly Eyes.

And that was also the strange part, because Aquarina had no such powers like Sylphy, she had no Heavenly Eyes, Divine Blessings of Light to see the “Truth” and the “Future” or anything of the sort!

And yet… What she saw and what she went through, it felt simply too real, as if she had lived these things, as if she had somehow traveled to the future and lived the moment her girlfriend died.

Although she felt almost traumatized by her own subconscious playing tricks on her, she slowly calmed down as her parents comforted her and talked to her about these special dreams.

“We also had these dreams back then. They are twisted versions of the possibilities of the future. It is our own Blessings warning us of a future threat. That we must prepare.” Nepheline explained to her daughter. “But you don’t have to worry, Aquarina. They’re dreams, and such prophetic dreams never go one hundred percent as we see them. It’s more of a warning, you get it? To get stronger and prepare for whatever is coming.”

“A warning…” Aquarina muttered, feeling a bit calmer as she heard her mother’s soothing voice. Despite being a burly warrior with an intimidating appearance, Nepheline had a very soft, motherly voice when she wanted to. “W-Wait, you had them too?”

“Yeah, around your age we began to have them, before we went against the Demon King…” Shade sighed, caressing his daughter’s head. But then, he grew more serious, as Aquarina and Nepheline noticed he was thinking about something specific.

“That young man… It was probably the new Demon King, Aquarina.” He said. “It seems that he has already been chosen to become the new Demon King. What you saw might not be 100% true, but it has already told you and revealed you plenty of information. At the very least, we can confirm that he’ll try to attack you and Sylphy, and probably the rest of the young heroes. The burning city… was there miasma in the sky?”

“Eh?” Aquarina grew confused. “T-The new Demon King?! Ah… No? I mean there was smoke but there wasn’t anything purple…”

“So it wasn’t the Demon Continent then?” Nepheline wondered. “So that burning city… It might’ve been one of the cities of this continent? Which one is as big as she’s saying? And also with a huge castle?”

“Hmm…” Shade glanced at his daughter. “Aquarina, was there an ocean enarby? Was it a port city?”

“I couldn’t tell! I was literally fighting for my life in that dream, dad!” Aquarina got a bit angry.

“S-Sorry, I didn’t intend to upset you… But these things are great information we cannot miss to prevent that future from becoming a reality,” Shade explained.

“Hmmm…”

Aquarina sighed, closing her eyes and trying to recall the dream again, there weren’t any screams from people, and she didn’t remember seeing anybody dead in the streets.

The city was simply burning constantly, and there was a huge castle…

“The castle… where have I seen it before? It was gigantic and white… connected to a large spirit tree! Ahh!” Aquarina’s eyes widened, and so did her parents.

“Y-You mean the Capital of the Elven Kingdom?!” Nepheline asked.

“So the fire… it happened in the capital, and the Demon King and his new Seven Demon Lords appeared there…!” Shade muttered. “Then that means that the new Demon King is a young man, based on descriptions, has short purple hair and long black horns. He’s humanoid right?”

“Y-Yes…” Aquarina nodded. “He had… White skin I think.”

“Human-like… Could it be?” Muttered Nepheline. “Is the new Demon King a half-demon?!”

“What?” Shade wondered. “But they have always been of the highest caste of demons, usually between the Goliath Clan or the Dominus Clan…”

Goliath Clan, Dominus Clan, the two clans with the most Demon Kings in history, and the two strongest Demon Clans in the world.

Aquarina was about to learn a lot about Demons, more than she could have ever wanted.
