THE LAST PARAGON IN THE APOCALYPSE

Chapter 638 Supreme Human vs The Tribulation (2)

The beast took a nosedive toward Miriam, who held her sword with a calm expression on her face. She stood there with a serenity that suggested she was at peace with the giant beast charging at her.

There was no fear or panic in her eyes. All that could be seen in calm. She was at peace with her environment, something a warrior needs hundreds if not thousands of years to master.

One with the environment.

However, when the beast came within 200 meters of her, she blinked out of existence. She simply vanished, leaving no trace behind.

It was like she wasn’t there to begin with.

The ladies all held their expressions, gawking. They couldn’t sense her nor see where she had gone. She had just vanished.

Even Queenie, the Void Stage expert, could swear she didn’t know what had just happened, despite her understanding of the Void and reality warping.

However, Klaus saw something different—something he had never seen coming.

Back in the Tormented World, he fought a certain demon beast called ‘Aetherion’.

This demon beast had the ability to warp the reality around it to the extent that not even a Void Stage expert could sense or see him.

Instead of entering the Void, he simply warped the reality he was standing in, making it so nobody could perceive you.

However, this ability required immense focus, soul strength, and mental strength. So, while it was something many might aspire to have, out of a hundred thousand, only one could achieve it.

And Miriam was the one who managed to master it flawlessly.

‘I have loads of questions, for I didn’t give her this skill, nor do I even know how to do it. Fruity copied this skill, but he had yet to master it.

So if I wasn’t the one that gave her this skill, then does this mean her past had already started to reach out to her?’

Klaus was impressed but also hungry for such a skill, and he had a lot of questions he needed answers to.

This made him wonder just where Miriam received such a skill from. He felt that the tyrannical presence must have something to do with it.

In fact, Klaus seems to have accepted that her past has already made contact in a way that either she doesn’t know yet or wants to keep quiet for now.

If only he could see her dreams, he would become aware that the war goddess of the eastern region, every night she sleeps, dreams of a battle scene where she would battle thousands of opponents ranging from beasts to humans, aliens, and whatnot.

Her dreams are never peaceful, and it was through this dream that this skill was assimilated into her arsenal.

She hadn’t practised it actively since they were on vacation, but now, she was using it flawlessly, thanks to the dreams.

The beast stopped its attack when the target vanished.

However, in the next second, a screeching sound erupted, followed by a potent sword light that cut through the neck of the beast, killing it instantly.

The cut was clean. It was a precise, calculated strike. Klaus saw exactly how the attack happened, and he was impressed yet again.

She appeared right before her sword flashed forward.

However, Klaus could tell she had put much into that skill and attack, which caused her to lose more of her stamina and spiritual qi.

Her pale expression said it all.

But he didn’t do anything; he just stood there as they all waited for the third and last beast to appear.

If he were to join her, things would escalate, and who knows what the heavens will do.

“Sister Miriam, is this powerful?… I never saw her as someone this monstrous,” Nadia said. The ladies nodded, for they also never expected the delicate, bountiful Miriam to be this formidable.

In truth, they were all jealous of the body Miriam carried, so seeing the heavy-chested goddess now cleaving through beasts that some of them couldn’t even face in groups left them gobsmacked.

“You have to remember, Sister Miriam is someone who grew up battling zombies and beasts just to survive. Someone like her doesn’t despair in the face of danger,” Queenie said, a small smile playing on her lips.

“When I met her, I was just a Sovereign. I was fighting a Transcendent-level beast in a Tier 7 Forbidden Zone, but I underestimated the danger of the zone.

I was attacked from behind by another Transcendent beast. However, Sister Miriam stepped in and stopped the Transcendent-level beast despite just being a Saint back then. She held it back until I handled my opponent.

Had it not been for her, I would have probably died back then. So remember, all of you, among us, the one who has faced the greatest danger and lived to tell the tale is the same lady now taking the tribulation.”

Klaus smiled, hearing for the first time how Miriam and Queenie met and became sworn sisters.

‘So it was because one didn’t survey her surroundings well, and one was plainly courting death by entering a Tier 7 Forbidden Zone when she was just a Saint.’

‘I need to spank her as punishment for being careless,’ Klaus joked, but he knew it was more than that.

Miriam’s life after her sister’s death wasn’t the best. So perhaps, just like Hanna, she was also trying to end it all, but she wanted to do it on her own terms by dying a warrior.

If fighting a Tier 9 beast was the way, she was down to end her existence that way.

Miriam, who was pale, looked up at the tribulation clouds just as a wyvern appeared in the sky.

“Is that a dragon?” Lily asked. The creature shares some similarities to Klaus’s fire dragon.

“No, my love, that is a knockoff of the real deal. It’s a wyvern,” he said with a smirk. “I have the real dragons, not this weak thing.”

The ladies looked at him, rolling their eyes. But he indeed had a dragon, one only he could ride, simply because it wasn’t a real dragon but his flame element.

“Well, it’s a Tier 10 Wyvern, so it’s not an easy opponent.”

“Then would Miriam be able to handle it?” Klaus’s mom asked. Klaus, who knew if the joke would end up screaming, replied

“Mayhaps.”

“Be serious, Klaus,” Queenie said, also worried. Miriam was her sister long before they became wives of the same man.

“Just watch. You all knew the Miriam of the past, and the Miriam now is different. She was just an ordinary human back then; now, she is a Supreme Human. Someone who has transcended the limits of us mortals.”

“Plus, even if she can’t handle the third form, I will just join her and make it much more chaotic.” The ladies looked at him weirdly, but Queenie knew he, indeed, wouldn’t hesitate to do that.

However, while they were worried, Miriam, who was looking up at the wyvern, smirked. She raised the Sword of Tyranny up in the air and let go.

The sword shot up until it was several meters off the ground. Then she formed a hand seal, and the gem on her forehead, connected to the thin tiara around her head, glowed.

“Chains of Tyranny,” she muttered, and the heavens shook.
