Many millions of years ago, the Crystal Dragon attacked the Supreme Human race when the Tyrant Queen was in seclusion.
The attack was sudden and calculated. They waited until she was away to attack.
It was said that during that battle, 100,000 Supreme Humans died. It was the greatest defeat in all of their history.
Perhaps—and this is a long stretch—but perhaps, that was what made the Tyrant Queen turn tyrannical. She was a tyrant from her youth, but after the massacre, her title as the tyrant queen was well-earned.
It was said her sister, who led the charge against the crystal dragons, died, so she took matters into her own hands and single-handedly charged into the domain of the Crystal Dragons.
They call it the greatest massacre after the Primordial Era.
Over nine days of the massacre, millions perished.
It was said that the True Immortal-level Crystal Dragon King was the first one she attacked when she appeared.
That was also the first—and only—time the [Chains of Tyranny] were seen being used.
Now, however, it was being used again, and the pressure coming from it even made Queenie, the strongest of all the sisters, shudder in her spine.
Klaus had to call forth the Lightning Source Diagram to wrap around them and cancel all energy around them, including their cultivation base, before all of them were able to breathe.
But up ahead, a 200-meter-long sword appeared, and then seven chains with pointed tips emerged from the hilt of the sword.
They shot forward and latched onto the wyvern. It was very simple and easy, but the chains latched onto its body, making the wyvern screech and writhe. However, in the end, it couldn’t break free.
Miriam, who had turned pale from the sudden use of the skill, pointed up and made a slashing gesture.
The giant sword in the air took a swinging strike and sliced through the wyvern, cutting it in half. It was a simple cut but very effective. The wyvern turned into runes, which Miriam absorbed.
The heavens roared again, but instead of another beast emerging, a beam of light descended from the sky. Along with it, a white crystal housing a liquid floated down toward Miriam, who caught it and stored it inside her space ring.
The clouds cleared, and she sat down to cultivate and solidify her breakthrough.
Soon, a purple light began to envelop her body, gradually forming a cocoon around her. But unlike before, this time, the layer was very thin and almost intangible.
“Hoo. That was intense,” Klaus’s mom said after Klaus dismissed the lightning source diagram around her body.
Her heart nearly gave out a minute there when the chains appeared.
The other ladies felt the same. The final stage of the tribulation had been dangerous, but instead of the heavens being the terrifying force, it was Miriam who scared them.
They simply couldn’t comprehend how a skill could be that frightening.
The chains looked anything but normal, and the fact that Miriam was able to channel energy to manifest them was utterly shocking.
“I’m sure, except for Sister Queenie and Oheme, Sister Miriam could defeat Klaus,” Lily said with a smile.
“Are you sure about that?” Klaus asked, looking at her with a teasing smile. “You saw how I killed eight Tier 10 monsters at the same time, right? It was just me when I was only a Sage, and now I’m a Great Sage.”
“Still, you wouldn’t be able to handle her if she used that skill,” Lily said, refusing to back down.
She wanted to defeat Klaus, but whenever they were apart for even a short while, Klaus seemed to widen the gap between them.
“It’s true I can’t handle her last skill, but she also wouldn’t be able to use it for a while,” Klaus said, making the ladies look at him curiously.
“Wait, you ladies didn’t notice?” Klaus asked with a teasing smile.
“No need to look smug, brat. It was because of the gem on her forehead; I saw it glow when she activated the skill. Now, it’s turned white instead of golden. This means she needs to recharge it before she can use it again,” Klaus’s mom said, stealing his moment of triumph.
Klaus could only smile and see his mom in a new light.
Though he would have loved to tease the ladies about it, his mom stole that moment from him.
“Mom’s right. The last attack consumed whatever energy was stored in that golden gem. So until it turns back to golden again, she won’t be able to use it.”
Klaus had also noticed this, but he knew it wasn’t something simple. The gem looked similar to the one inside his seventh core, but in a way, they were completely different.
He could tell they both act as a power source, but in a way, his own looks different, and its use also appears to be different.
“So, until she gets it working again, I don’t think Miriam can defeat me.” Lily could only sigh and think of a way to defeat the brat. Klaus is a monster they all want to defeat.
He is like that mountain they all want to climb and reach the top. However, whenever they are halfway, it appears like they are still at the bottom.
“But still, Sister Miriam is very powerful. She can now handle Ascendants.” Lily could only root for Miriam.
She had indeed become a monster in her own right, thanks to Klaus expanding her soul and awakening her bloodline in the process.
As a supreme human, she is basically the perfect human. She is what every human wants to become. She is perfection. She has the bloodline that empowers her and grants her unique abilities.
This is also true for Nadia and Kathy.
With their bloodlines awakened and unlocked, they are now akin to the perfect versions of themselves.
Klaus could even tell just by looking at them that if all his ladies were to awaken their bloodlines, things on Earth would start heading in the right direction.
Bloodline is what shows your true potential. The stronger your bloodline, the more powerful you become, and Klaus wanted nothing more than to help those he trusted awaken theirs.
‘Right now, the best thing to do next is welcome the Moonborns, help the overlords form soul bodies, and start going after the powerful and deadly monsters that threaten the safety of this Earth.
The most important, however, is to handle the Lunar Beasts. And for that to happen, I must have a team that can fight against the odds.
I cannot do it alone. At least not now, when I don’t have the materials required to create new perfect warriors using the forge.’ Klaus sighed.
‘I have been given all the right tools to ensure everything is safe. That Earth is safe, for I know deep within that this world means something to me. I cannot let it get destroyed by the heavens.’
Klaus was in such deep thought that when a dark door opened and an even more beautiful elf walked out, he didn’t notice.
Nadia appeared, and she had a smile on her face as she moved toward Klaus.
