THE LAST PARAGON IN THE APOCALYPSE

Chapter 654 - 654: Reunion With His Uncle Monk

“You are finally here, brat,” Old Lu said, sitting under a tree, sipping his tea.

“I am here, Uncle Monk. Looks like some things never change,” Klaus said, watching him sip his tea. Fruity’s habit of always drinking tea was something he got from him.

He was always sipping on something, regardless of the situation he was in. So, watching him sip his tea, he was more than convinced now that the bald-headed Monk before him was his Reincarnated Uncle Monk.

Old Lu smiled and gestured for him to sit across from him.

Like the monk he was, he sat down and filled his cup.

Old Lu stared at him for a few seconds and smiled.

“So, reincarnation, huh?” he asked.

“Big time,” Klaus answered before sipping his tea.

“So, how long have you known?” Old Lu asked.

“Since the moment I saw you when I first arrived at the academy. Though you are now different in a way, I felt a strong attachment to you, so I knew deep down you were my Uncle Monk,” Klaus answered, not hiding anything.

“I guess I wasn’t crazy enough to think we knew each other back then. Now, it all makes sense.” Old Lu sighed.

“But what are the chances that we both reincarnated into the same world? Isn’t that weird to you?” Old Lu asked.

“It’s indeed weird, but I wouldn’t worry about that. The important thing now is that I have finally reunited with my favorite Uncle Monk,” Klaus said.

“Ha, I knew it. Back then, you said I was just your Uncle Monk, but I knew I was your favorite,” Old Lu said, smiling. Klaus just shook his head, watching his childish nature take over.

But he was happy to see him happy. Though he plans to cause trouble for him later, he can be happy for him for now.

“So, what happened?” Old Lu asked.

“You died to a weakling, Old Man,” Klaus laughed, teasing him. Old Lu threw his teacup at his head, making Klaus duck and evade while smiling.

“I know I died, but back then, I was just a Sovereign. Did you really expect me to have the power to defend against an attack from an Ascendant?” Old Lu sighed.

He was one of the few who died so Klaus could live. His death was rather swift, considering when the large hand came from the clouds, they tried to block it.

“Yeah, after you died, I managed to turn things around at the last minute and helped the rest escape to a place called the Ice World,” Klaus revealed, causing the bald monk to raise his eyebrows.

“The Ice World? So that place does exist?” He had heard of that rumor back then. He heard the Ice Empire, or as most called it, the Ice Nation, was searching for that world.

It was just a rumor back then, but now, hearing his fellow monks were sent there, he was both relieved and shocked.

“Yeah, it does exist, and that was where I somehow managed to send them before I left Valeria and went to a place called the Tormented World. I lived there for over 60 years and trained really hard before I returned for my revenge.”

“How did it go?” Old Lu asked.

“They died like ice statues,” Klaus replied, causing his Uncle Monk to smile slightly. He knew Klaus had an affinity for the Three Forbidden Ice, so he wasn’t about to assume he was lying.

Anyone who had ever wielded that ice caused great calamities before they were put down.

So he knew Klaus wasn’t someone who would grow up into a weakling. That is just not possible.

But hearing that he didn’t die for nothing was like the greatest news he had ever heard. His sacrifice wasn’t wasted.

If only he knew Klaus came back from the tormented world with seven instead of three forbidden ice elements…He would probably drop on his butt out of sheer shock.

“So, were you able to meet your other Uncle Monks before you reincarnated?” he asked.

Aside from him, many of his Uncle Monks also died. The attack claimed more than 50 of them, but the rest survived.

“I did meet them in the Ice World. But the last time I saw them, some had already left to explore the universe and what it contains. I couldn’t meet all of them before I reincarnated, but I wouldn’t be worried.

The Ice World is a godless world, meaning they are not under the heavens, so no matter what, if they are still alive, then one of these days, we will be able to reach them.”

“That will be great then,” Uncle Monk said, sipping his tea.

“So, what are your plans now?” he asked again.

It was good to hear about the things that happened after he died. So far, Klaus had said nothing suggesting he was unhappy or life sucked for him back then.

From what he said, his life was pretty good back then. But now is a different time; he must have a different agenda.

Uncle Monk knew Klaus was a Paragon even before he awakened the Forbidden Ices. This was because long before Klaus appeared in their lives, there was a prophecy.

So he knew Klaus’s current life was no different from back then. Of course, he wasn’t about to say it out loud for fear of the heavens retaliating.

“Right now, I plan on creating a team that can help me clear all the dangers of this world before the awakening. If we want to have a shot at coming out alive during the awakening, then Earth must become free of internal dangers.”

“That is actually why I called you here. After I recovered my memories, I found out this world hadn’t awakened yet. This means we are in danger, but I know you will understand, so I have started making plans.

The various factions will be assigned special missions to start major campaigns against some of the Forbidden Zones and the Badlands.

But I don’t want them to enter the extremely dangerous ones. So I was waiting for you to come.

Based on what I know about you, do you think you can lead a team into Tier 8 and 9 Forbidden Zones that even Transcendent warriors wouldn’t dare to enter?” Old Lu asked, not even realizing how ridiculous it sounded.

Sending a Great Sage into areas where Transcendents would hesitate to go. That just doesn’t make any sense, yet he knew Klaus was capable and could do it.

“I don’t mind at all. This will allow me to awaken their bloodlines and help them grow much stronger for the Badlands.” Klaus smiled.

His plan was the same thing the Old Monk was thinking about. He will enter the dangerous, forbidden zones, where he plans to gather materials for his perfect warrior’s projects and train his friends.

This will allow him to awaken their bloodlines, too.

“This reminds me, I have the [Wrath of Vajra] and [Buddha’s Palm] techniques in their full forms now. Do you want me to teach them to you? I know you’ve always dreamt of learning those two techniques.”

“Are you kidding me? Teach me fast,” Old Lu beamed, causing Klaus to smile happily.

He was indeed very happy.
