Chapter 1440 Pathways and Destiny

Chapter 1440 Pathways and Destiny

Through her pain, Maeve struggled to open her eyes, finding that the power to resist the influence of Elura was growing easier the closer Rowan’s aura became. It was a reminder of the impossible strength that her Lord controlled so easily.

As much as she appreciated this help, she also did not want Rowan to reach this place that was so deep in the Land of Miracles because, without the right amount of power, he was simply stepping into a prison, and this was what she could never allow, Maeve screamed inside as her body and Will were crushed to the limits under the weight of Elura’s power.

Her eyes slowly turned towards Elura and she found the lady peering into the distance with a weird look in her gaze as if she was surprised. Maeve realized in her shame that after Elura had spoken to her, she had been focused in the distance, on her Lord, she had failed him.

Maeve had been suffering from just the few words the lady had spoken to her, and it shamed her that her weakness was so prevalent. Maeve did not care that the gap between Elura’s powers and her own was so wide it may require that an entire Major Era passes before there was a possibility that she could be her equal, but she did not care, not when her Lord might be in danger.

Maeve went insane, disregarding the weight of Elura’s presence bearing on her as with her eyes, nose, and ears bleeding profusely from the strain, she struggled to speak, “Don’t you dare… harm-“

Elura turned towards her, eyes widening in surprise as if she was not aware that the effects of her presence had nearly crushed Maeve to pieces.

“Oh, I forget the effects that I have on lesser immortals,” she blinked and Maeve was restored, the pressure vanishing. “You should know that you don’t fight against a storm if you are not strong enough. You follow the flow. Now let’s welcome my son.” Flames bloomed within the eyes of Maeve as she whispered, “yes, let us welcome the return of my lord.”

Rowan’s introduction to the Land of Miracles did not follow the same pattern that he did when he first arrived. Now the dimension they traveled through towards the Land of Miracles was through the Tunnel of Time and what Rowan could see of this Primordial Domain resembled a tree that was so massive that each leaves were the size of universes and it true size was incomprehensible even to his senses at this distance.

He mused internally that there were no more Frozen Road, and he did not take the path that he once used where he met the father and son, Mirthal Elnorin and Kymil Elnorin, Watchers of the Cyan Titan and fourth rank elders of the Grehn Pathway, they had watched over the portion of the Frozen Road that was linked to the Land of Miracles for many Minor Eras, his Reflection had planted a seed in the souls of these immortals and he wondered how it might have bloomed.

Rowan glanced at the location in space where he had once met them, and Seed was able to caught him doing so,

“You do not need to wonder if the pair of guardians are still there, they are and would always be, it is the fate of those of the Grehn Pathway to serve as the first defense against any enemy from the Frozen Road, and even if that road is gone, their duty does not end, they would still stand watch until there is nothing remaining.”

Rowan frowned, “Are they expected to serve at that position for all eternity, even if that duty is now redundant?”

“Eternity?” Seed laughed, “You will come to know that even as things change they also stay the same. Their guardianship is necessary, it is the only way that their Pathway is given the strength to control the Cyan Titans and their watch is never in vain. They gain strength pursuing their path, and the same thing happens with you, although in a limited manner, but it is still there”

When Rowan created his Supreme Circle, he did it by learning every single technique required for an immortal to reach the level of Will, and he knew that Pathways and in essence, Dominators, were a unique variant of the road to immortality by the Eldar, and he understood that each unique variation of Pathways required specific conditions for them to grow, but he still found the topic fascinating and the explanation from Seed only fed that fixation.

“Seed, you were a tear of the Primordial Life, born an eighth dimensional entity, so I would assume that you had never had a need to use a Pathway for cultivation, and so it should have no influence over you and also me, however, from your words it seems that is not to be the case.”

“Hmm… this question would be easier to understand at the sixth dimensional level, but. I think I can elaborate a bit more for you. Tell me Rowan, what does a tear signify to a mortal and even an immortal?”

Rowan did not need to think long about the answer, “Emotions, either of sadness, sorrow, anguish or sometimes even happiness,”

“Good answer lad, and it is the right one, so it means that I was born from the emotions of Primordial Life, and whatever he felt when he gave birth to me, became an intrinsic part of who I am, and I can suppress it due to the control over my Will, Fate, and Destiny, All of this together suppresses the essence of my being to become an easy affair. A Pathway is simply a road that lead to the peak of existence and that simply mean that this is a road towards controlling your Destiny, and because I was born with a means to control my Destiny I never had a need of a Pathway, however, this is not the case for most of reality, so the majority follow the road of others that has control over their Destinies. If I wanted I could create a Pathway using my Destiny as a guide, do you see where I am leading with this?”

Rowan thought about it for a short while before nodding in understanding,

Seed smiled, “Tell me,”

“You can easily control the urges of your bloodline, with your control over your Destiny, you are no longer bound by what created you in the first place, and can chose to overrule whatever direction your pathway was set upon, but for those who wishes to follow you on this road, the ones who uses your Destiny as a guide, they do not have your Will, Fate or Destiny, and so they would have no recourse but to follow the urges of their Pathways until they are strong enough to seize their Destiny with their two hands and break away from the bounds of their bloodline.”

“Hahaha, that is correct,” Seed booming laugh echoed through space and time as they got increasingly closer to the Land of Miracles, “I know that you are beginning to wonder how this ties to your mother and you.”

“That thought did cross my mind,” Rowan smiled, he could not help it, there was a certain ease when it came to talking with Seed that Rowan found charming,

“Would you believe it if I told you that your mother was born a mortal?”
