Chapter 1441 Primordial Life
At that shocking admission from Seed about the roots of his mother, Elura, Rowan muttered, a deep look in his eyes, “I am not surprised.”
“Oh, you answered that question particularly quickly. Now why is that?” Seed arched his brows, “Have you perhaps triggered your Natal Memories? No, that’s not possible yet. Hmm, before I get sidetracked, let me finish my teaching. Your mother is an Old One, not that fifth-dimensional facade she showed you, and it is important for you to know that despite her being my child, she does not follow my path, but her own, and that is only possible if she were to be born a mortal. Just like you. If she was born an immortal as I had the option to make her, then she would follow my path, know that this pattern of giving birth to mortals amongst the Old Ones is virtually nonexistent and your mother and you are an anomaly, and it is because I have never valued the tradition of having countless minor figures following your path when they can carve their own for themselves.”
Rowan could imagine how Elura born a mortal in a land of a primordial would tackle the problems that would have arisen from such a state of being, the trials and challenges that she must have faced to grow from a mortal to an Old One must be heaven shaking, and whatever it was had made her into the immortal she had become, this woman was not given power, she took it for herself.
“Which Era was she born, Elura, was it in the Primordial Era or before, could it be in this Supreme Era?” Rowan asked with intense curiosity, he could not help but let this emotion bleed through into his voice, this detail may seem unimportant but it may be extremely crucial to him, even though he did not know the full reason yet why it might be so.
Seed shook his head, “That is something I cannot tell you because even I don’t know the precise date she was born. Her powers you see, they can be particularly tricky to figure out.”
Rowan was skeptical, “How could that be possible, are you not her father?”
“Hmm, I was not going to tell you this information so early, but I think you deserve to know this truth if you are to survive. You control the Tree of Desire do you not? A unique power that is equal to my bloodline and stands at the peak of the Land of Miracles, but do you know the power that your mother controls…. No need to rack your brains over the answer, for I tell it to you now, and you will be wise to keep it in your heart, fail to do so and the consequences would be yours to bear.”
Seed paused, far longer than Rowan thought was possible as he gathered his thought and when he began speaking, it was sudden,
“It is called the Tree of Imagination, and its powers are frankly ridiculous, do not let her know that I have told you about this, it is amongst the greatest of her secrets, but I believe if you ever want to walk out of your Mother’s shadow, then you need to understand that with her, nothing is at it seems.”
Rowan’s heart squeezed in his chest and for a moment he almost forgot to breathe, only his supreme Will pushed through the haze of panic that filled his soul, forcing him to focus on what he needed to do, and he asked Seed with a clear and calm tone, and even the old man could not detect the massive changes ongoing in the heart of Rowan, “Why do you help me Seed, Flura is a greater ally to you than me, I believe you don’t want to make an enemy of her.”
“Ah, but you have the potential to be equally as great as she is, perhaps even greater, and if I don’t give you the space to reach your full potential, your mother would not permit you from reaching it, or if you do, your path would no longer be yours, her appetites are ferocious and I fear that the things she craves are taboo… so many have. forgotten what it was like when Primordials still roamed through reality, they have all forgotten, and their ambition grows like a wildfire.”
“Is there no way you can stop her from bending my path to suit her own?”
“I wish I could child, but with her powers, she is very much my equal in many aspects, and in addition to this, while I have spent my years mostly by my lonesome, your mother has been making deals and collecting allies, she can call upon a power that I can’t match. Bah, as much as I hate to admit it, the truth is that your mother has found ways to become stronger than me, and if I were to battle with her, I can no longer predict who would walk out of it, I will do my best, to aid you against her direct manipulations, but the rest would be on you. You are a Breaker, and despite all her powers, that is something that she cannot touch… maybe.”
Rowan did not hesitate in his response, his voice was strong, and his mind was already made up, “All I need is the opportunity to survive, old man, and walk my path to its completion, give me that and no one would stop me from reaching my full potential.”
Perhaps Seed sensed the great power behind Rowan’s words and despite not knowing all that his grandson had done to reach this point, he finally allowed himself to stripe himself of all the bias in his heart as he looked at Rowan, seeing the conqueror that was before him, and how he stood before a powerful Old One like him and there was no single hint that he was being suppressed by his weight, and Seed laughed aloud, anticipation flooding his heart about all that was to come,
“You, my boy, will shake the foundations of this land, and I’m here for it, hahaha, I am here for all of it.”
“Welcome to the Land of Miracles!” Seed announced with a flair, his voice booming, as they both stood before a gigantic tree that stretched over all of existence, existing on a realm that transcended reality. A moment before there had been nothing in front of them, and suddenly it was… there. A weight slams into their bodies like a wall and Rowan nearly reeled back.
At this point, Rowan had seen marvelous sights, far greater than any immortal of his level could ever hope to see in a million lifetimes, but Seed had carried him to the very top of the Land of Miracles, and Rowan could see in this tree, the life force that gave all of existence meaning.
Seed spoke slowly, each word heavier than mountains, “This is the Tree of Primordial Life, the first tree in all of existence, this tree gave birth to the concept of life, this is the roots of your bloodline!”
As Rowan looked on the Tree of Life, he felt the bonds bounding his Serathis bloodline begin to loosen, as he watched the spectacle before him, his senses pulsed with recognition and inspiration as he looked fully on a Primordial existence and with his current sight as an Eclipsed Immortal, he could see so much, more than even Seed could have ever imagined.
The first detail that entered his consciousness was the roots of the Tree of Life, it anchored itself through the countless realities of Primordial Chaos, every fabric of space was its bearer and they strained to hold its weight.
Through the primordial Chaos its roots extended into the Great Abyss, and countless unknown dimensions that even Rowan could not decipher, and as it spread life, it also harvested something unknown from everything those roots pierced through, and Rowan knew that this was the price that was paid to give life to all of existence. His sight trailed past the roots towards the trunks, it was a highway for the flow of dimensional forces that staggered his mind, every single inch of this trunk was riddled with runes that were so ancient Rowan’s mind nearly froze as he attempted to decipher it, and he found to his astonishment that his talent had failed him, he did not understand what he was looking at,
“Be careful child, you look upon the sleeping form of Primordial Life himself, even though he is dormant, and all of his light has been suppressed deep into his heart, he is beyond your understanding.”
Rowan could barely hear Seed, his eyes and soul were bleeding, and the fact that what he was looking at was the body of a Primordial did not shake his concentration, he wanted to see more, because his bloodlines and Wills were practically screaming at him to see!
He looked at the branches, each was filled with countless leaves that were realities unto themselves, and he knew that even until the end of time, the inhabitants of the Land of Miracles would barely travel through more than one percent of the entire reality that the Land of Miracle contained, this was how unfathomable the might of a Primordial was, Rowan felt his mind shake.
If this Tree of Life was to be likened to his Origin Land, it meant that Primordial Life had awakened every single bit of it, he had cultivated it to the limits beyond all limits, and seeing nothing more to discover, Primordial Life went to sleep until their plan for this Supreme Era and the countless Era to come in the future was realized.
Rowan saw the truth of what a Primordial was, and he feared that he was not up to the task.
