But Emperor Kalos didn’t seem calm as he said, “Do you really understand what you have done by doing all of this? This is not something that can be taken back that easily.”

Emperor Kalos had a complicated look on his face after hearing this, but eventually he said with a sigh, “I know that I won’t be able to stop you, so I’ll go along with what you’re planning to do. At the very least, these old bones can protect you when the time comes.”

Lin Fan deeply knitted his brows before saying, “Your majesty, how could that be? This was all my planning, this isn’t related to you at all. If anything happens, this matter will not be tracked back to you in the end.”

This time, Emperor Kalos finally revealed a determined look as he said, “This isn’t something that I will negotiate. You were acting on my orders and no one else’s, you understand?”

Lin Fan still had the same frown on his face without answering these words.

Emperor Kalos didn’t react at first before suddenly saying with a sigh, “It is what it is. This is how it is for the royal family, this isn’t something that can be changed that easily.”

Lin Fan gave another nod before turning to leave.

Once he was gone, Emperor Kalos looked up at the ceiling in silence as if there was a lot that was on his mind.

After a long period of time, he said to himself, “These are all the consequences of my own actions. If I didn’t hesitate in the past, then it wouldn’t have turned out like this.”

He looked down at the door and said to himself, “That child as well is the consequence of my actions. If I had been more careful, then Timothy would be here by my side right now.”

On the other side, there was a faint smile that was on Lin Fan’s face.

After all, everything that he had set out to accomplish had gone smoothly.

With this conversation with Emperor Kalos, it meant that he had finally finished his preparations. All that was left was to trigger the plan that Yue Lan had prepared for him and finish his mission here.

Once he was done, the Kalos Empire would be pushed even closer to the brink of destruction.

After all, it didn’t matter if the plan succeeded or not.

All that this plan was meant to do was to cause problems for the Kalos Empire’s fragile state to push them even closer to collapse.
