"Lynn." Jin knew the insecurity his dear penguin cultivator might have as he let her bite him more than enough before bringing her right in front of his face. Even though he was gone just for a few seconds, the expression on his face somehow brought in more maturity than he had before. If she did not mistake it, there were a few white hairs sprouting in between the sea of black hair.

His eyes felt duller than before but they still glittered upon seeing her which brought her some joy.

"Your judgement might be correct. Qiu Yue had improved leaps and bounds to the point that if I brought her to battle, she would not be a burden," Jin said honestly to his partner. "However, her training had not been easy either. She was doing all she could to learn whatever our dear devil fox was willing to teach. And trust me, you would not want to be under him regardless of the situation."

"But…"

"Let me finish, my dear girl." Jin requested and Lynn kept quiet for a while longer.

"What I am trying to say is that she had decided to put in the effort so that she could contribute to my fight. That does not mean you are not doing the same. Every time I return home, I get to eat your home cooked food. I used to be grateful that I got to eat something delicious every time I returned home. But ever since I returned from the Synthesis World, it never felt the same again." Jin remarked.

"The days you made even such a simple meal were filled with something that no one could ever replicate. I felt beyond grateful, to be honest. If there were no words to replace it, I felt love." Jin blushed a little while saying that but did not stop to give Lynn a chance to talk.

"And it became even more apparent even though I am standing right in front of you still intact from the trials that I had gone through." The dungeon supplier commented as he reminisced the days he was in Atopia. Now he knows that whoever that he knew would have already passed away. If years were just mere seconds, the minutes that he took to talk and walk with Lynn up till now would have amounted to decades.

If he returned right now, Jin might even see the last of his commando mages who had served him admirably well. At that point, he also wondered whether No.8 ever found someone to replace her love for No.4. But as cruel as time was, he knew that it would not be possible as every thought that passed through his mind, their age would have caught up to allow them to pass peacefully.

The group had always wanted to have a great royal send off for their king but Jin had preferred to leave everyone a letter and quietly leaving Atopia for his own world. While he might be the strongest warrior in that world, his heart was not hardy enough to bear the goodbyes of the loyal subjects that served him in these past year or so.

Thus, as he spoke to Lynn, a portion of him was crying because of the missed opportunities that he had with his loyal subjects and at the same time tearing to appreciate that Lynn was right here and now for him.

Was he too busy to appreciate life? Had his ambition trying to be not just a world class dungeon supplier but a 'multiverse' class dungeon supplier made him forget that there were still people around him, supporting him? He could not answer those questions but at the very least, he knew that there was still one emotion that was causing him to continue to move forward.

Ever since he knew that he had already cleared the trial, and the dungeon supplier was preparing for the Mecha Universe invasion, his thoughts were still about Lynn and how he wished to talk to her about the many incidents that had happened in Atopia. From how he tried to build an entire house by himself to personally supervising the commando mages and subsequently ruling the kingdom with people who aligned with him in his ideals.

But the moment he saw Lynn when he returned, all he had in his heart was not anticipation. He was merely glad that he was able to see her once more. That was when he realised that he needed her as a part of his pillars to hold and support.

So as clumsy in romance as this conversation had been flowing, it was an affirmation from Jin to Lynn. He truly missed her and there knew that no matter what multiverse or planes he gone, Jin was able to return back to his home world with Lynn waiting for him with a plate of her home cooked meal of the day.

"Ah. Are you saying all this because you miss my cooking?" Lynn knew where Jin was coming from but she could not stand the mushiness that Jin was emitting. It was so unlike him to do so and thus attempted to steer the conversation away in the most awkward way possible.

"Miss your cooking? Oh yes I do miss your cooking. However, I miss this even more." Jin said as he grabbed her by the waist and pull her upwards, causing her to react with screams and giggles but it dramatically changed the mood.

"This bright wide smile of yours waiting for me back home." Jin said with a wide smile as well before pulling her close to him as Lynn surround her arms around his head. She took a quick whiff of his hair and could still sense a faint smell of his scent despite a year of different shampoo.

Stay connected with empire

At that point, Jin embraced her even tighter before slowly putting her down on the ground. And regardless of the crowd around them, the couple finally gave each other a kiss before Lynn said the words that he truly wished to hear while wiping his tears away. ꞦâNŎ₿Ès
